Thanks for the nice words Andre. Normally I train somewhere else, but I've just arrived from The Hague where I had a good workout at Steelworks (Ardy Veltkamp's gym).

I only know those 3 guys by name & face, but I've never met any of them. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I would like to do the Open Rotterdamse next year. In case I qualify again, then I can join the Dutch Championships, so we'll see.

Well, DP,
Saw Tom Platzes legs backstage as a security guard in 1982 at Congresgebouw contest , saw Robby Robbinson there as well was caught by the bodybuilding virus immediately, trained at Gino's Gym ( 80's) later Jonkman, Chris Visser, ,
Kneets Gym ( still around ), anyway i'm getting old now , Always regretted not daring to prepare myself to do an actual contest and step onstage.

Still training now at Healthworks ( Babylon ) The Hague). I'm 55. Well there is a Masters 50 at D level Plus so who knows.?

Your class would be Masters 40 i think? Or do you plan to compete in a Regular weight- class?

Wow, you grew in interesting times. A friend of mine, who's in his early fifties, has signed pictures from guest posers like Zane, Platz, Bannout and the lovely Rachell McLish. He was also the one who brought me in contact with Willem Jonkman. I did his brutal sessions for a while, and see him frequently, a true legend who was Robby's training partner for several years.

So, they introduced a new 50+ D class? I didn't knew that. I assume it's during the SAP cup? (formal: Flexcup) This show is already somewhere in December, but you might join in 2016? Just make sure you find an experience coach/trainer for your first contest, best of luck!

Yeah, I do the 40+ masters. I'm allowed to do a second class as well, but being 1.82 m tall isn't in my advantage for a weight class.

Rob vd Dussen runs a gym somewhere near Amsterdam I think.
He had the nastiest gyno.....

Rob could have taken it further on the competitive ladder. He just wasn't that smart
