Miami is what you make of it, you have great hotels there and great normal nightlife. If you are looking for craziness you will find it there just like you will in NY or CA.
There are many gays in Miami but they are not a danger to nobody. IF you are in great shape (and great shape in NY can mean out of shape in Miami) then you might get gays complimenting you there very often.
Miami is full of hot Spanish girls too, they are friendly and very nice.

No it isn't. The only old people down there are the half drowned Cubans that made ashore and the hispanics that are there illegally and can't get decent work any ways. The "old" people (NY Jews, former Miami residents, retirees, etc..) have all moved north to Aventura and Hollywood.
Andrew Cunanan basically shot and killed every gay person in town when he murdered Versace years back. The "real" gays that were/are part of the trendsetting edge of culture and fashion left town and never looked back. The only gays left are those that can't make it anywhere else because they missed the last boat out of the place that had departed before Versace had finished bleeding out.
Women? City full of plastic preserved third tier trophy wife rejects. Women over 30 are to the "it" happening scene what Kamali is to the pro BBer scene. The under 30s are nice to look at but the majority are nothing-happening-going-nowhere types whose life goal is to meet some out of towner they can marry and move away with. Seriously, any girl that has something going for her most likely won't be here. Party girls and pussy professionals? Yes.
There is Miami, Miami Beach, and South Beach. South Beach itself is small and the actual activity is confined to a much smaller area within. Maybe 4 blocks along A1A and Collins. Beyond that is nothing but the dregs.
Why bother to go to the topless beach when you can go twenty minutes north to a fully nude beach where you are pretty much assured of meeting a decent girl from somewhere else in FL and getting to bang her brains out later?
