You talk such a big game all the time, turns out you are a php script kiddie irl :D

Brutal self-ownage.

Yeah... right... I've always said I'm a web dev, and PHP is as "script" as C#, except that the compilation happens "live". I hope you realize that most of the big websites and services are based on PHP? Join php and rldb and you can build plenty of complex stuff. It is not about the language afterall, but about how can you solve the problems/tasks. If you can do everything in JS - do it.. Python? Porfavor. As long as it does what it must do.

Check this to see what the world's biggest websites actually use. And no, Facebook doesn't count, they roll out their own patches.

"As long as it does what it must do" is the bane of professional programmers everywhere. It's what Indian programmers say to one another. You should consider using the best tool for the job, taking into account not only functionality but also:

1) Maintenability (you will know what this means if you ever need to re-architect a codebase of hundreds of thousands of lines)
2) Performance (as above, try making changes on a system with O(n^2) complexity)
3) Security (essential if you ever build a system that handles customers' financial information).

I have done all of the above and I say: to put PHP in the same sentence as C# is like saying that a fiat is the same as a maserati, because "they are both cars".

I honestly couldn't care less. Could show some of the stuff I've done, but it'd be easy to identify me, so whatever.

As for putting PHP and C# in a same basket - each is created for it's own usabilities. PHP is a powerfull language and you can create various good products using it. Hell... even the dreaded WP is written in PHP and it's most popular blogging system (they say "CMS", I would not agree tho'. Joomla or Drupal are real CMS'es, in PHP either)..

I have no experience with it. It is similar in C# more than PHP, yet it is different in many ways (from what I can read quickly - it's compilation process is different and requires parser), I know very little C# either, I'm your classic web dev, so it would go out of my scope to provide an intelligent answer. I'm mainly working on my own projects currently and PHP + JS (I'm not talking about frameworks/libraries, they are the same stuff, just built on these core languages) + RDBMS knowledge and concentration on creating valuable product is enough to make decent money.

I have been professionally employed both as a Java developer and as a C# dev. The languages are very similar in that they are modern, object oriented garbage-collected languages with enormously over complicated APIs for doing routine things. They really only differ on syntax.

Thanks, always have been a low level dude and always will be. But it is interesting to gain some insight.

You are good. What kind of products have you been creating (involved in creation)?

Why haven't the government set mark wahlberg on this lot!? He already said if he'd been on a 9/11 flight he'd have thwarted their attack.

Mostly infrastructure and server products. The one product that I worked on in the 90's is so well known that a Google search would reveal my real name, which I try to avoid in this insane asylum.
