ya, the whole announcing retirement is an arrogant thing.   she took more abuse and pain in that fight than she dished out in her entire UFC career.   she will never clear that pain from her mind if she ever gets back in the ring.  all of a sudden she goes from total offense and 'i'm gonna beat this girl up'  to  'holy fug i hope i don't get hurt bad again'.

and with that her entire fight game is changed.

the thing is, she always looked really good in training in my eyes. I thought she had improved her boxing big time because that was the big hype as well, that she had improved her hands. Even mike tyson was blown away by her performance in her training camp against bethe. Now looking at the situation from every possible angle I see that ronda has been one giant hype.

Whether she'll retire is hard to predict. I think she will come back simply because they'll toss enough money at her, and it will give her a few more bucks from endorsement deals. That being said, because of the how one sided it was, there isn't any easy road for her. She either builds up to a fight with Cyborg, then if she wins, Holm, or straight to Holm. You can't even build her back up with middle level exciting journeymen because of a lack of talent in women's MMA. Anyone other than Cyborg or Holm will be seen as a tomato can.

It will be interesting how Rousey handles it all. She's bi-polar and has chronic depression like her father. I think she'll fall in a dark place over the next month or so while he heals. Her brand and character is getting destroyed online.
