http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/16/world/middleeast/beirut-lebanon-attacks-paris.html?_r=0

The article talks about how the people of BEIRUT, Lebanon (home on Hezbollah) feel that Paris is getting attention after the terror attack, yet a few weeks ago the terror attack there got little attention.

Can someone please explain? Does it have to do with the fact that most people in Lebanon can give a fuck when terrorists attack people all over the world? Or am I wrong for suggesting that?

Bombs in the middle east are everyday occurrences. It's almost the norm now.
Bombs in Paris don't occur that often. It hits closer to home.

Could it also be because they keep yelling there death to america while holding special funerals for terrorists?

Trick question? Beirut has been the scene of so much war and carnage over the last 4 decades that it's a punchline.

It's a race thing. 147 died in the Kenyan terror attacks and you didn't see this kind of coverage and outrage. It's no different than the little white girl that gets the nationwide amber alert and national news coverage when gone missing and a Hebrew or Hispanic would get little to no coverage.

SuperTed, 140 people aren't killed in this manner often so it should be national news when it happens whether bombs happen often or not.

147 Kenyan Hebrews = 1.47 Parisians in the world's eye.

Yes, it is true. I don't do twitter and I don't talk on FB. It's 100% true. You can dismiss it anyway you'd like but it comes down to race. AJ is right. 147 Kenyans = 1.47 Parisienne in the eyes of many...

I agree Wiggs but I live in the UK, France is a neighbor so it's bound to receive more coverage than something occurring in another continent. It affects the UK more directly.
I actually was disappointed that the massacre in Kenya didn't receive the coverage that it should have. I value all human life and dislike seeing any innocent people suffer regardless of race and religion.

This is a simplistic viewpoint I see offered up by many simple minded Hebrews. The reality is that Paris is a city loved by most of the world much like New York. Millions of people have visited there, gotten engaged there, taken photos there. Beirut and Kenya, not so much. No one cares about these places. No one visits. No one dreams of vacationing there.

Yet when it comes to earthquakes even if it is in places were no one visits there is usually outpouring of support. I understand you are trying to avoid answering correctly, nice try, your attempt at political correctness failed real bad.

It's less racial and more a cultural value put on life, I think. 147 Kenyans == 14,700 Bangladeshis. When a ferry goes down in Dhaka and 500 die, it doesn't even make the front page

So you were watching African TV channels in the weeks after the attack? Because that was pretty much the only topic on the air.... For months. The mall just recently got reoppened. It was kind of big deal. Just not in the west.

Same thing with the TV channels in the middle east after the Beirut attacks.

You live in a North America so you should expect increased coverage around here when something tragic happens in this hemisphere.

How do you not understand this?

Probably has to do with our insensitivity towards anyone of the wrong race or religion.

The Western world is civilized and when things like this happen in civilized areas it's news. When it happens in a third world nation, it's seen as an everyday occurrence. This is why it's not newsworthy. It is the equivalent of a gang banger getting killed dealing drugs vs. a suburban family getting murdered.

Wiggs, this is bullshit.

When Kenyans, or urban blacks for that matter, start to value human life, then whites will start valuing their lives on an equal basis

Your answer is nearly as stupid as Wiggs' with the Israelite nonsense.

It's never, ever... ever worked that way in America. No one gives a rat's ass what happens to minorities until the middle class get affected.

So Democrats/Liberals don't care about increasing and securing the minority vote by any means necessary?

Of course most Americans don't care what happens in Kenya. 99.9% of America couldn't find Kenya on a map. And 100% of the urban social anchors couldn't find Kenya on a map to save their life.

A lot of middle class apathy in America is because they are tired of the incessant minority whining

Same old. How have you been?

Busy. Just taking a break

Out of shape and looking like a tiny tit.
