onald Trump on Thursday called for the creation of a national database to register all Muslims living in the U.S. to protect the country against terrorism.

“I would certainly implement that. Absolutely,” Trump told NBC News during a campaign stop in Newton, Iowa.

He continued: “There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems.”

Trump, who also said this week that he would consider shutting down mosques, told Yahoo News earlier Thursday that “we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely” when asked about a national database for Muslims.

Those answers seemed at odds with a follow-up question from CNN’s Sara Murray in Newton. When Murray asked whether Trump would rule out a database for Muslims, he said he didn’t “know where you heard that.”

As far as I am concerned from 2008:  UE is lower, gas is lower, property values are higher, stock market is up.  The ACA is a BS scam and I don't always agree with FP decisions.  He sucks at PR.   This is what sticks out for me.    He isn't doing a great job, but he will leave the country better off than BUSH did.  Not that BUSH did such a bad job either.  My biggest beef with him was the Iraq war.

Now, I'm all for shutting down the borders and never letting ANY refugees in again.  But badges and databases for 8 million muslims living in the USA = opening the door for databases against gun owners, tea partiers, etc.  We can index 8 million Muslims because fewer than 30 have attacked our country domestically... but don't bitch when they decide 30 bald white dudes have done attacks, so they get a database now.
