Great Covers
« on: November 28, 2015, 09:41:46 AM »
The look on Robert's face throughout the performance, holding back the tears is priceless.  Jimmy and John also loving it.  Ann and Nancy knock this one out of the park.

If there ever was a thread destined to die a quick, quiet death in The Lounge it is this one.

I've seen people commenting that Robert Plant is holding back tears from that performance, but it's not true.   He suffers from eye strain due to age. It's gotten more prominent since 2012.  And if you look at any YouTube video of him over the past 3 years or so where he's done up close interviews, you will see the same glossy eyed look where it looks as though he's got tears welling up.  Just age setting in.   He's seen and done it all, many times over.  They all have.   If anything, sitting through that performance probably bored the hell out of all of them.

Probably best 'Stairway' cover I've heard.

Here's 'Babe' by Great White from Mtv's Unplugged years back. They did an entire Zep covers album, which was pretty damn impressive (though not quite Crowes/Page impressive). Much better than your average 80s hairband:

Holy fuck, that guy's voice is awesome. Love that Creedence cover and everything else i've just heard from them is awesome too. You'll probably like this:

Yes, sir. Best I've heard in my 47 years, an extraordinary gift. Everything he records is gold.

I like your folksy blues tune, too, thanks.
