No idea why people would ever want to remove him from the money.  He was the last President to pay off the entire National debt as well among other things.

South Carolina just wanted to be able to engage in international trade without having to give a big lump of cash to the fed every time they took something off a boat.  The artificial tariff was designed to make the inflated price of Northern goods comparatively cheaper and keep the South paying the North.  You don't really believe that Northern lawmakers were acting in the noble national interest, surely.  That was their same excuse later on and it didn't wash then either.

In principle, Jackson was right.  States can't choose to ignore national laws or you haven't got a nation any more.  In practice, the tax was onerous and unfair.  "You have to give us all of your money.  That's the law.  Obey it or we'll send troops."  Not much reciprocal benefit in that, which is what the Southern gripe basically boils down to in all these conflicts.  In this instance, there's no moral question as with slavery to cloud the issue.  SC was right to tell the fed to fuck off.

1. Not even remotely being true.  Furthermore, there were no slaves in the "southwestern US"  Besides, the Southwest was completely foreign territory at the time, not the US.
2. Native Americans fought with Jackson.  Why not start by looking up the Battle of Horseshoe Bend where Jackson commanded a force of Cherokee, Lower Creek and Choctaw and US forces to victory against the Red Stick Creeks which ended the Creek War.
3.  Abraham Lincoln defied a ton of direct Supreme Court rulings.  Here is just one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ex_parte_Merryman - U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, sitting as a federal circuit court judge, ruled that the authority to suspend habeas corpus lay exclusively with Congress. Politics are beneath me, but if asked, I would advise Republicans to stop pandering to minorities and trying to win the "black" vote...instead, do what you have to do to not settle for half the white vote.  Win 2/3 of the white vote and you can be happy with the 10% you'll get of the black vote without any wasted effort.
