You're missing my point.
Is a person is an illegal on a terror list, on a no-fly list because of plotting against the U.S., or on an expired visa from Iran.....what the hell are they doing in the country in the first place?
Get rid of the problem at the source and stop trying to claim an inanimate object is responsible for anything

I'm all for many other measures to keep them out in the first place.  In no way did I exclude those.

I'm saying, for the douchebag illegals, criminals, felons, and terror-listers that are ALREADY HERE, and want a gun they cannot buy legally - - we may as well remove that option from them.   That's all.

This is the 2nd time someone has accused me of ignoring other means and choosing ONLY this.  I'm all for tripling gun crime sentences, booting their asses, and many other measures.  But I like this one TOO.

Every argument against it so far has been "it's only a small %" and "why not do other things".   NONE of them have told us why it's okay to allow dozens of guns to be sold from car trunks to strangers without ID, for cash, with zero background check, in the USA in 2015.

Yet they are all concerned about "voter fraud" and having an ID for that even though Voter Fraud happens Literally Less Likely Than Being Hit By Lightning.

Retarded non-sequitur.

Like redefining the definition of unemployed so the POTUS doesn't look like the one of, if not, the worst job creation president of all time

I'm highly suspicious that you have a university degree. In fact, I don't think you do, or at least you don't have one in a useful curriculum of study.

You really have very little grasp of how the world really works.

You are the typical Obozo low IQ supporter.....except for the bowl haircut and elf ears.

good call TA... I posted 2 days ago this exact thing...

repubs scream about voter ID, but don't want people to need an ID to buy an AK47 rifle.

Let them think about that for a bit.

I will tell you why, because private unregistered sales are what stop the government from having a list of all gun owners.  Once any sale has to be licensed and recorded it is a small step to a big database with who owns guns and where those guns are.  Gun owners do not want that ever, especially the NRA because it will make confiscation much easier.  Mad at Glocks, we'll check the list.  Saturday night specialist?  Check the list.  Not on the list?  That's a crime.

This is the argument.

Then say it.  I give you props for saying it.  I want to hear Coach say it.  Insead of "well, illegal guns don't kill THAT many people...", I want to hear him say he believes the govt will take them, and he wants to hide them from uncle sam.

Let's take this to the extreme:

You are a man in the Arctic, wronged by your lover who fucked some stranger, and drunk. You are angry and react without thinking so punch the fuck out of him. People hold you back.

You are a man in the USA, drunk and pissed off about being laid off from work and your ex is seeing someone - you have (or easily buy) a gun. Fuck... it's a stupid... sleep on it... can't sleep... get drunk... decide the guy she is with is a dick too. Go to his apt and find 3 ppl, kill them with gun you have. Feel shitty. Shoot yourself in head.

A gun makes mass violence easier, accept it. Some dickhead with a knife can cause a lot of damage - I know - someone I know was stabbed 2 weeks ago in a stupid argument (over a girl  ::) ) but no gun was involved. Now, the guy in question actually has a gun... but it is in a safe and legally owned... not on call for hot headed arguments. He is pressing criminal charges btw.

And....if you were a jihadist you would go to the apartment with a suicide vest and level the building.

Stop with the silly hypothetical scenarios.

How many guns did the 9/11 terrorists use?

They took advantage of the naivety of US security thinking internal flights needed less security... and only needed stanley blades to overtake an aircraft.

If I were a Jihadi I would go to new year's ever in NY and just let go from a any room overlooking Time Square. I was in Time Square for new year's ever before. Might as well have been a sardine with a shooting gallery above.

You can keep going with it to say one of the three had a gun, and disarmed or otherwise neutralized the threat.  Perhaps neutralized before it began, due to knowledge the dude had about the armed status of the would-be victims.

With no news on it, maybe never even seen in the police report.  How about that?

I know you're joking but I'd never cower from going out unless there was a legit threat... The thing is... after 9/11 they up airplane security in USA. After subway attack other day they deploy more officers to London tube. You think anyone could have foreseen someone attacking a centre for training disabled people? They can pick childcare centres, shopping centres, boats, buses, whatever - upping security after won't help.

@Las Vegas armed people/possibly armed people doesn't seem to work when you have a mass shooting every day in USA. If someone taps me on shoulder I cannot preempt it.

But the "mass shooting" is what's reported on, while the other is not.  That's the entire point of it.

Spot on

With Martial Law you can find a good hiding place for your guns. But if you're on a Gov list for having guns and they come a calling, you better give up all those guns or you'll find yourself sitting in a Fema camp...Fuck a list and fuck letting your neighbors know you have guns...

If you can't be trusted to fly due to terrorist activities against the U.S., then you should be in jail. You have forfeited your rights as a citizen

I see the trolls are out in force... can you tell us - and be very specific - what the numerous toddlers under one year old, and several active and on-duty Air Marshals have done to not be trusted to fly and to, according to you, be jailed and forfeit the rights as citizens? We'll get to members of the Armed Forces and the Congress next.

And when you're done with that can you:
  • (a) explain how one can end up in jail on account of being present on the no-fly list, considering the lax legal standard (by the government's own admission, it is below the "reasonable suspicion" bar) vis-à-vis due process as guaranteed by the Constitution? and
  • (b) present a plausible legal theory that being added to a list by the Government means that you forfeit your rights.

Thanks!
