15 years old, and still unmatched in a lotta aspects (atmosphere, intensity, character design, timing...).

That's what a classic is all about.

Real nice flick. Although, it brought about the other "epics" like Alexander and Troy with their queer gazes and brutal overacting.

Great movie, let down by the scene when director and camera could be scene in background of a battle shot which some nerd somehow managed to spot  ;D

Odd that Crowe won the oscar for this (an entertaining movie with action) rather than A Beautiful Mind (mentally ill person) or The Insider (probably supporting actor but more serious role). Also great in LA Confidential... and Fightin' Round the World

Gladiator was awesome  back in the day when I was in HS. Watched it at least once a week...

300 was good but Gladiator was immense, everything from the music to cinematography and casting.

Awesome movie. Not as good as Braveheart but better than 300.

For some reason i could never watch any gladiator movies.just dont get the hype with these movies.

This. Gladiator was just a repackaged not as well done Braveheart.

They even lifted the major plot points - hero wants to be a farmer/man of peace, wife gets killed, he fights and inspires people, gets betrayed and dies in the end.
And the women in Braveheart were better looking.

i cant get over Joaquin phoenix scar lip , it doesnt bother me at all in Walk The Line but in Gladiator, i just want to punch his face til it bleeds
