2017 Mercedes E Class
« on: December 08, 2015, 04:53:27 PM »
Mercedes proving they're still on top!  This will be three home runs in a row for Mercedes (S, C, and E).

All these cars look the same nowadays

Audi, BMW, all the same

Same sausage, different lengths

To me Mercedes and BMW have very different character.  Over the years each has become more like the other in an effort to steal sales away.

I don't like the tail end of these Mercs. Started with the CLS. I prefer bolder lines and differentiation...

I'm talking about how each model is exactly the same like 7 series, 5, 3, just different lengths

Same could be said about the S, C, and now E and Audi models

Mercedes hopes you think of the C Class as a baby S Class.  :D

In 2002 or so BMW completely changed shapes. I hated it at first  (7 series changed first, designer was Chris something, he got such shit but was proven right over time)... Merc changed around 5 years ago. Compare the 2004 C and E with the modern ones. A lot of the C classes and the sport models have aggressive grills when Mercs used to be considered the older man's car and BMW for the yuppie.

For the money I'd take the Mazda 6. Looks like Merc SLS bodywise and is a fraction of the cost. Haven't driven any of them. Most recent Audi I've driven is 2010 model, 2012 for Merc.

Mercedes has totally fucked up the E and C class.

Also BMW with the 3 and 5 series.

They look like shit.

Generation nothingness approved design.

Love my E350 convertible.  Right now is the perfect weather to ride around with the top down either day or night.

chris bangle..made something of the z4 after the drab z3,,,the 6 series created a sharp design, liked what he did with the e60 5 series after the e39 which was a nice looking 5 series to try to top..bangle was good.

It just doesn't do anything for me... I know. Big talk from a guy who drives a Ford Fusion.  But the only two cars I like these days from Mercedes are the CLA and GLE coupe (AMG versions). My dad has a brand new S class that he loves but it doesn't do it for me.

I've been driving an E Class for 3 years now and love it but I prefer the style of the pre 2010 models.
I agree with the post re Merc/BMW/Audi all very similar these days.
