Do the ones with the gay voices and gestures purposely do that with their voice and body language or is it really their natural way of speaking and moving around?
I am inclined to believe that most make a conscious effort to sound and act that way.
The extremely pseudo effeminate ones are called "Nellies". Most black homosexuals are Nellies and while some would call that a stereotype it must be pointed out that stereotypes exist for a reason. i.e., they are based upon fact(s).
I have known a few Nellies in my lifetime. Nice guys but most homosexual men prefer the so-called, "straight acting gay men". Nellies and Drag Queens call one another "bitch" and "she" and "her". It can be ridiculous and the homosexual men I knew and was friends with could not fathom why a man that is attracted to men, would want a man that dresses and/or acts like a "woman". Nellies are more a caricature of women. One friend used to say that unless you were just plain desperate, only a Nellie would sleep with a Nellie.
I suppose that Nellies are just another fetish/subculture of the homosexual world. Bears, Bear Cubs, Otters, Nellies, S&M, Drag Queens, etc. I don't understand it. If this doesn't answer the OP then hopefully one of the gay dudes can better explain it.
