Did it a couple of years ago,1 set of 50 reps on a basic exercise for each bodypart and for 6 days a week, took a couple of weeks for the cardio to get better and i can honestly say my arms looked the biggest they have ever looked. After about a month i started getting sore hips from squatting every day so i would squat one day and miss the next.Doing 50 reps on squats is no fun but once the cardio gets better it was fine. Its something i always go back to at least once a year to give the joints some rest.

I train with about 50 percent of what I would bb train with in the 8 to 10 rep range

so for bench I would have 30kg each side instead of 60kg

it doesn't kill you like heavy lifting

probably lose about 5 reps on the last set

I made a similar thread a few months ago.  Since then I've backed off a bit and mostly do supersets or giant sets.

If you can really do a set that's hard enough for you to need lots of rest, great... But for me, it doesn't work like that anymore.

Its always good to try new stuff like this.  You quickly learn that bodybuilding dogma is complete nonsense.

there been a few medical journals  published debunking the whole rep range myth for hypertrophy. time under tension matters not rep ranges

Look up PHA training from the 60's. It's a giant set with unrelated body parts.

I moved from high (high) weight, low rep and relatively low volume (maybe 15-20 sets per workout) to super high volume over time (depending on workout, 40-140 sets of 10-40 reps) - it takes a while to get the cardio up to scratch, but once you do, you're like a kid with ADHD and can't rest between sets, keep strength at a high level and have an ability to reduce rest between sets and push high rep sets to a point that is incomprehensible to low rep lifters.

It was great for my joints til lately. Think I have adapted too much, or am overtraining, but it gave me great results.

funny how my sets never last more than 30 seconds, don't do many of them. The whole time under tension thing is crap.

Can't believe people are eating that shit up.

The body has no clue as to what poundage is on the bar......it only knows stress/intensity of effort.

You can vary the reps but that type of training protocol I believe is the best overall system for health and fitness.

It is also ideal for a competitive athletes whose training protocol doesn't revolve around weights training and building big, bulking muscles.

Just twice a week is enough for the average person that wants to get and stay in good shape. That's what I did for over a decade during my years when competing in Jiu-Jitsu except I divided it up with upper body one day and lower body a few days later.

You are training your muscles anaerobically and your body aerobically at the same time. No need for boring treadmills and stationary bikes.
