in what way does being a progressive thinker intrude on your life???.......do you truly believe that you pay less tax when Republicans are in power???...even if republicans cut taxes, its an illusion because that money has to be made up somehow and we usually end up BORROWING it which makes it worse due to having to pay interest....Republicans often leave office with BIG DEFICITS which have to be paid for by INCREASED TAXES.....its a very big fallacy that we can have the kind of government we want and are used to with very very low taxes....its not happening..

As for regulations, Republicans believe in leaving people to their own devices which simply does not work..people will take advantage of all opportunities to do the wrong thing in order to enrich themselves...thats human nature..(see deregulation of banks).....regulation SAVES LIVES AND PROTECT THE PUBLIC..yes it costs more but saving lives usually does....

At least when the Dems want to spend they are honest about it and raise taxes to pay for it.........I would much rather tax and spend than borrow and spend

You can't have my money. I earned it....if its not a function of the Federal governemnt as defined by the Constitution...or defined in the state constitution..then you can't have it. Programs need to be cut. I don't give a shit about green energy...housing for poor people, housing for immigrants...free medical for whoever. I'm sorry but Ive worked my ass off. I enlisted at 17...paid my own college...multiple combat tours and after 25 years in service.....will retire. Forced loans that banks knew were bad led to the housing bubble...forced affirmative action benefits nobody. The gov works nicely when its small. You don't need huge taxes when the Fed ain't doing much more then defense.

Why is it that so many folks who are on the dole, want to cut the very programs that support them? I hear more garbage about Obamacare from people that qualify for the Oregon Health Plan than don't. The Oregon Health Plan was designed for folks who cannot afford medical insurance.

Whether we deserve free health care or not is a stupid debate.

The point is that we could have reasonably low cost or free healthcare but our present system is fucked up and won't allow it.  Hell we won't even vote in cheaper generic meds and actually have dumb ass people who argue against that.  Our medical industry is a money making beast and they scored big with the ACA.  The propaganda machine has got all the ignorant rednecks believing that free health care in Britain and Canada is composed of death panels and shitty doctors, believing stupid horror stories that aren't representative of those systems as a whole.  I have a large group of relatives who are Canadian  citizens.  Health care is not perfect there but works fine.

But of course its so much easier to debate whether or not people should have free health care as a distraction for the raping we get every month.

Both my son and son-in-law are retired from military service. My son retired after 22 years. My son-in-law was medically boarded out because of injuries sustained during combat. He was a Forward Observer who was deployed 4 times to the middle east. My son is able to work. My son-in-law was awarded 100% disability.

I'm pretty sure you weren't thinking of cutting these programs/benefits. Where do you propose cuts in programs should occur? Which government services are not needed in your opinion? Are you of the mind as long as you get what you believe you're due, to heck with all those other poor suckers?
