Star Wars hysteria
« on: December 15, 2015, 05:29:42 AM »
No matter how mediocre/ordinary the movie turns out to be, it will break records in box office and people will be acting like they've never been to a theater before ... seriously, the brainwash of this "iPod generation " is beyond ridiculous

Also, to see a grown ass man dressed as " vader" killing over a ticket to go watch a movie that anybody will eventually watch no matter what ...is plain pathetic .

I'll just go smoke a Cohiba and listen to Bowie's Space Oddity ..

social media drives the mainstream media, if you can create enough buzz on social media that eating shit out of a sewer is the new trend cnn will run a story showing their host trying it and urging others to do the same

I'll be the GetBigger in a Chewbacca robe, killing elders and minors alike just to sit an overcrowded IMAX theater on Thursday.

Dude, considering the bullshit you're into, you really shouldn't be throwing rocks at Star Wars fans.

Biggest money maker of all-time, no question. But, more importantly, it looks as though it'll be an excellent conclusion to the prior, legit trilogy.

"This iPod generation..."

What an ignorant post.

Star Wars has caused movie-goer hysteria since it first his in 1977.  Cosplayers, long lines and record-crushing sales are products of the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and now the 10s.

Idiot.

haha, this!! I was just going to type this. Star Wars has caused mass hysteria among its fans since the 1970's. This is NOTHING new. I remember when Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) came out. People were going batshit crazy.

The OP is a major idiot.

Haven't seen a single part of it. maybe I should try. Tho' I have a feeling it's just another bullshit empty waste of time I'd regret after.

Probably hard to appreciate as a first-time viewing adult. Rewatching ain't so bad, holds up pretty well; but if I hadn't loved it as a child, don't think I'd have made it past the first thirty minutes.

I remember all these legendary characters/actors from a childhood, but I think I haven't ever seen a full part, or just forgot already. Certainly haven't seen anything from the new ones.

I was not all that much into Star Wars. I prefer other science fiction movies/shows, however, I still watched it because its Star Wars. Definitely worthwhile.

Probably be wise to just skip it, then. If you like sci-fi, much better offerings around that don't employ the childish fantasy like SW. Imagine it's only something an old fan can really appreciate.

I loved it as much as anyone growing up, and it's even taking me some extra effort to revisit that mindset. Maybe give Interstellar a try. Or Sunshine, a clever one that flew under the radar. Same with Moon.

Have faith in the director.  They were adamant about not repeating the mistakes of the prequels.

We will see. I had to sale my tickets for this Saturday, my girl sprung a company christmas party on me. I couldn't get tickets until a fucking week later.
So I sure some co-worker or Facebook whore will spoil the movie for me.

Never watched any of the movies fully. Seen a few clips of them and it wasn't enough to tempt me into watching the entire franchise. The recent ones they made looked shit.
