Liked the original when it came out at age 11, only saw it once, never had the desire to see any others.
A more weird following than bodybuilding...

Disney owns a shit load of media outlets and they're using them all at their disposal to promote the movie.  There was a Hollywood premier yesterday and they were showing quotes from people that saw it raving at how amazing it was yet those people are employed by Disney.  Of course they're going to say how great it was.

No matter how mediocre/ordinary the movie turns out to be, it will break records in box office and people will be acting like they've never been to a theater before ... seriously, the brainwash of this "iPod generation " is beyond ridiculous

Also, to see a grown ass man dressed as " vader" killing over a ticket to go watch a movie that anybody will eventually watch no matter what ...is plain pathetic .

I'll just go smoke a Cohiba and listen to Bowie's Space Oddity ..

Would going to a bodybuilding show be any more meaningful? ::)

This movie will do well regardless of how shitty it is.  It might not catch Avatar because Avatar was groundbreaking when it came to 3D and that's what attracted a lot of people.  With all the hype and nostalgia they will get their fanbase to show up.  I'll be curious in a few years if people give a shit to continue watching the Hebrew and skinny brit chick in the lead role.

Lots of Social Commentary in this new episode of Star Wars.

Great depiction of the social climate of today.

Probably hard to appreciate as a first-time viewing adult. Rewatching ain't so bad, holds up pretty well; but if I hadn't loved it as a child, don't think I'd have made it past the first thirty minutes.

Re watched the original 3 with my girl the last couple of weeks and besides how bad some of the effects were I enjoyed them a lot...though the third was a little hokey.

If you notice in Episode 3 that Darth Vader's helmet has finger prints and smudges on it.  They didn't pay that much attention to it and then in Empire they polished it up nicely before every shot.

There's a great scene in episode IV where a stormtrooper hits his head by accident and they didn't remove it.

I wouldn't blame the iPod generation (Millenials/hipsters) for this hysteria. It is a combination of old people wanting to relive their childhood (like my gf  ;D ) and people brainwashed by the hype Disney can bring to a movie. After all, they did pay $9bn for the rights, they will milk every penny.

I don't care, except for the fact I might be dragged to see it and guilted if I don't. My son loves Star Wars, my girlfriend loves Star Wars, I can't be fucked with it. Would rather watch Masterchef or a season 2-6 Simpsons episode.

Hold it right there Boba fett.

Nothing against the movie....Its the morons around the hype that are way out of control over the film

It's ridiculous. There was a fella on the news the other day terminally ill of cancer who's last wishes were to see the movie before he died. Not see his mother or his family or last born, no, to see a fucking movie lol. And he was crying  during the interview. Unbelievable.

Angry Star Wars Fans Threaten To Spoil The Force Awakens

http://news.yahoo.com/angry-star-wars-fans-threaten-to-spoil-the-force-183235138.html

According to Bleeding Cool, a group of angry ‘Star Wars’ fans have threatened the unimaginable – to spoil the plot of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ unless their demands are met.

But do they want money? Fame? Jedi Training? Not exactly…

“The Alliance to Preserve the Expanded Universe is a Star Wars private Facebook group that organises petitions against Disney and Lucasfilm,” they explain, “asking them to continue creating stories based in Star Wars Legends, the brand formerly known as the Expanded Universe.”

Essentially, that’s all the comic books, novels and other stories based in the ‘Star Wars’ universe which never made it to the big screen. They’ve been published across all forms of media for decades… but when Disney acquired the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, they decided to wipe the slate clean.

“The Expanded Universe closed down and rebranded Star Wars Legends, to make way for new continuity based on the new movies.”

This meant that the Expanded Universe was rendered obsolete… and these particular ‘Star Wars’ fans aren’t happy about it.

Would be a meltdown of the same caliber as Hipolito Meija and the Schmoes would have if Kai Greene didn't show up on his One-Man-Event in NYC!

White towels would be flying everywhere!
