I truly believe that it's because during their era(s)....
-guys were genetic elite who responded well to food and drugs but actually trained hard and lived the lifestyle ie focused on quality training and building the physique in the right places
VS
Today where it's guys who mainly genetic responders to drugs and food who train just enough to grow and don't live the lifestyle ie focusing on quality training and building the physiques in the right places, few exceptions are Dexter, Flex Lewis etc
Judging is also a big problem because everytime you get a guy who has or has the potential to present a fantastic physique with a small waist and real peaks he is considered small and not elite enough to make.
This is still one of my fave physiques of all time
Massive enough, cut enough, shaped enough, marketable enough to make $$ and good looking enough(no homo) to slay as much pussy as he wants
