Movie Foxcatcher---Schmoe of all Schmoes

Movie about Jon E Dupont(Heir to the Du pont family fortune) and his schmotastic love for Olympic wrestling. Played by Steve Carell. Looks like a good movie. This Dupont guy would have fit in seemlessly into the Bodybuilding Schmo World...

The ESPN 30 for 30 they did on him, and the Schultzes was great as well. Very sad at the end -

A great movie.  Steve Carell is incredible. 180 degree departure from what public is used to.

And yes.....John DuPont reeked of a schmoe.

Saw it. I didn't like it all that much.

Though, Steve Carell did a very good job at playing a creepy, old schmoe.

 I thought the same thing that DuPont guy was and is what Ed Conners is to young impressionable bodybuilders. The scene where he starts tackling the wrestlers to the ground was uncomfortable to watch.

Guys like DuPont are everywhere in the bodybuilding world and half the losers get involved with the,m like Nick Trig, Dallas and basically all of them.

Watched the doc on Netflix. I usually prefer documentaries over movies about the subject.

The doc was great and yes I described it exactly the same. Very very sad at the end. A great watch.

My questions exactly. When it boils down to it, money rules. Many poor suckers, either male or female will whore themselves for financial gain. In this true story, it appears both brothers were whores. DuPont was the definition of a creepy and controlling schmoe. Steve Carrell acting was very convincing. It was a brave move for him to play this role. DuPont was despicable.


Keep in mind that wrestlers are often referred to as "mat fags". Which other sports have this level of "intimate" contact? There are others. This is a serious question. -Football and rugby are a couple that come to mind.

When I first heard about the story and researched it, it sounded so obviously queer, yet all articles seemed to deliberately avoid any hint or mention it. The guy was a creepy obsessed old fag that the wrestler should have killed in a camel clutch during one of their sessions. What an annoying story.

                i enjoyed the movie, guy was definitely a schmoe, esp liked how guy was paid to take a dive to dupont in old man gropping,,,,,,,,, errr i mean grappling...
