I can believe that! Some of the older "weapons" are very collectable. A high degree of skill was used in their manufacturing.  The small boxes often used to carry the best weapons are also extremely nice.

-exact same style weapon
-no time limit
-first bird unable to continue is the loser
-frequently neither bird dies, one is just unable to continue.
-a draw is possible if neither bird can continue

Saw a fight once and both birds became tangled together and could not separate. It happens on occasion. Each bird owner comes into the pit and holds their bird while the knives are untangled. During one such event one owner was not holding his bird securely, it got free and kicked him in the palm of his hand. The birds were wearing Philippino long blades. His palm pad spilt open and all the fat in his palm pad fell out. Terrible injury.  Lots of blood. He was in distress- to say the least. LOL.
