Now I know some of you will say no big deal, but what this teacher did was wrong. She made the kids write some piece of scripture in calligraphy under the guise that it was an assignment. Also, I didn't see a pic of the teacher, but I'm thinking either moslem or cat white liberal feminazi.

The closing of the school was wrong. The teacher should be fired for doing something this stupid. Obviously that won't happen, however, as Islam shows the world more and more how peaceful it is, I am convinced it will be harder to be a politically correct defender of radical Islam.

They closed all the schools in the district. I'm not sure why though. I'm wondering if there were some sort of bomb threats. You are right though, this teacher should be fired. Could you imagine the uproar if a teacher made someone write "Jesus is the savior and son of God"? Liberals would be taking to the streets with pitchforks. I will say though, that religion doesn't really have a place in school unless you are at a private religious themed private school.

Teacher should be fired (for professional misconduct - indroducing religion to a secular setting) but trade unions (left wing by nature) would strike and cause more days off.

I was just about to bring this up. I took "world religions" as an elective course in high school and this assignment would have been appropriate. But any other class probably not appropriate. Lots of Islamaphobes in this country.

No it wasn't, and it was the choice of the passage she used. It's indoctrination plain and simple. Like Tu said, had she tried to get kids to write something like "Jesus is the lord and savior" she'd have been canned no questions asked.

Potentially, the problem is that once the kids say the words and convert to Islam in the eyes of Islam, if they return to their actual religion, they are apostates and subject to death under Sharia.

The illustrative classical Arabic phrase was the basic statement in Islam. It translated to: "There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the messenger of Allah."
