Getting knocked out is one thing, but that position he got left in, he can never live that down. He can never talk shit to his friends again. Every time he tries, he'd be met with something like - "Shut up nig-a, that white boy laid your ass out, left you looking like that van was rapin' you, and shit. Van all deep up in your ass....".

Pretty classy stuff from the delivery man. Didn't use force until he had to and walked away once he had disabled the threat.
A lesser man would have continued to pound the unconscious person in anger.

You're right about not using force until he had to.  He was very calm and collected.  But once Mr. Jumpy pushed his boxes, it was on.

Had this fight taking place in a different neighborhood and the racial roles reversed I hazard to guess that the knocked out gentleman would have been pounced upons by the crowd and relieved of his valuables and stomped within an inch of his life by an angry mob!
