Fox News’ Kimberly Guilfoyle Would Turn Gitmo Into a Death Camp

Fox News is famous for its outrageous and pervasive mean-spiritedness, but suggesting, as Kimberly Guilfoyle did on the December 18 edition of The Five, that the way to deal with Gitmo is to “Just Kill Them All And Close Gitmo,” is a new, appalling low.
Watch courtesy of Media Matters for America:

ERIC BOLLING (CO-HOST): So, we’ve just solved the terror problem?

KIMBERLY GUILFOYLE (CO-HOST): He’s so bad, that’s not even like an F in class. He’s got to repeat the year, because he’s so confused. Does he think, what’s his excuse going to be when he closes Gitmo and they’re all like jihadi delight together in Yemen and other places, like regrouping. What’s he going to blame it on then? That’s his counter terrorism strategy?

GERALDO RIVERA: You avoid the main point. Guantanamo Bay prison camp was invented to evade the Constitution of the United States. They wanted to have prisoners but in a place where they would be …protected from habeas corpus, they wanted a place where they’d have no Constitutional rights.

GREG GUTFELD: The Constitution doesn’t apply when you’re at war with enemy combatants. This is a new turf.

GUILFOYLE: I agree, I agree! Just kill them all and close Gitmo, that’s fine. They don’t have to come here, they don’t have to stay there.

Nothing like a little Nazi-style judicial murder. Fox News doesn’t care about due process, or about the Supreme Court ruling in 2008 (Boumediene v. Bush) that detainees at Gitmo have habeas corpus rights.

Then there is the little issue that the United States is supposed to be a force for good in the world.

It’s hard to be good when you’re murdering people because their existence is inconvenient. There is no difference between lining men up and beheading them and lining them up and putting a bullet into the back of their heads. Dead is dead.

Murder is murder.

President Obama has tried again and again to close the abomination that is Gitmo. He has been blocked at every turn, even being accused of lawlessness for wanting to close an illegal prison (Guilfoyle is wrong, releasing detainees doesn’t grow terrorism, keeping them there does).

And never mind facts, like the fact that Bush released 500 detainees from Gitmo without having his counter-terrorism strategy mocked by Fox News.

If Gitmo and the evil that has transpired there in the name of the war on terror, is a stain on America’s reputation abroad, Fox News is no less so. Fox News and its never-ending gospel of hate represents everything that is wrong with America, and if they had set out to do a recruiting commercial for the Islamic State, they could not have done a better job

she hasn't been plastered all over fox 24/7.  i know they have visual preferences.

She used to be an msnbc pundit

Well, maybe it's because the PC left is so fucking blind they STILL can't see they wake up every morning wanting to kill us. I'm sure that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will be released totally rehabilitated because the fine people of America provided a 5 star lifestyle while in prison for killing innocent people in the name of Allah and he will be a productive part of society instead of going back to where he came from and leading another attack. Yes, kill them all.

The fuck is the matter with you people.

FOX can be accurate, without being dicks about it.  that's what they're talking about.

Well, you certainly 240'd the shit out of that one.  At least you provided the video after you cherry picked the conversation in the most horrible light possible.  She was being sarcastic and over the top to combat jeraldo.  It wasn't  that hard to noitce.  In the future, she should probably preface whether she is being literal or not for people as dense as you

Whoooah,  chill out there conservative champion!

I only cut and pasted the article for discussion material.  (Which should have been more than obvious to person of your intellectual standard) If you noticed those cherry pickings, and dialog context, by all means make your point in a post OR contact politicususa.com and give them piece of your mind about how THEY 240'd that one.

Ah, got it.  You don't agree with the absurdity of the article, and you only posted it to point out the misinformation and total lack of comprehension of sarcasm, on the author's part.  I missed that part and assumed you to be posting it as relevant news on the political board.  Now that i understand you post totally frivolous news that you disagree with, it totally makes sense.

For a minute there, I thought you were trying to smear a news network on their lack of professionalism by posting an article from an unprofessionally written article that completely lied and misled their readers

Still wrong, at least you are consistent.

Wrong once more.

I think you might have a reading comprehension problem.

Feel free to try again.   :)

Well, you certainly cleared that up even further.  I have a feeling no matter how right/wrong i was in respect to your opinion/reason for posting this article, you would have just posted "wrong" after each sentence and ended it with a smiley face.  I'm now certain your intent was to stir and engage fair and unbiased debate among the members.  It isn't as if you have ever leaned to one side of the political spectrum or anything. You certainly didn't post this article to stir up criticism of fox news as an unprofessional network.

My reading comprehension isn't in question here. It's your honesty.  Maybe you shouldn't question the honesty of our other moderator here when you handle yourself as such.  By the way, in the event that you missed it, every statement that you claimed me to be wrong on was written in the spirit of sarcasm, which is kind of my point.  I know you don't believe or represent any of those things.  You didn't need to clarify them as being wrong
