Wrestlemania Booking
« on: December 24, 2015, 04:34:28 AM »
So let's play fantasy booker for next year's WM

rumors this far

Owens vs Lesnar
Cena vs Taker.....

Realistically what would you like to see....

For me...

Caesaro vs Ambrose for the belt (If Caesaro is back)
Charlotte vs Bayley - that's right.....

I would need a fantasy roster to care.

I absolutely hate what they've got now.

Yup....imagine paying 300 - 500 dollars on average for a ticket for WM to watch lower to bottom line C players.

Apparently, Rock is in. He's certainly gonna be one of the main events. Taker was supposed to face Cena. Now, that's up in the air, especially since the Brock program is done.

Jericho is simply not a Wrestlemania main eventer, but he'll have a second tier match. Owens would be a good one.

Austin might make an appearance but I don't believe it will be as an in ring performer.

So, your big three:
1. Rock
2. Brock
3. Taker

Full time current performers:
1. Reigns
He's probably gonna face one of the top three. I'd guess Taker. That's leaves Rock vs Brock which is a legit Wrestlemania Main Event.

The wild card is Triple H who will probably want to interject himself into a Main Event, but is clearly not on the level of the top three. IMO, he should put over Ambrose. There's enough time to set up that feud.

Top Four Matches:
1. Rock/Brock
2. Taker/Reigns
3. Triple H/Ambrose
4. Jericho/Owens

So no one wants to play fantasy booker?
Hogan vs Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Dudley's vs The British Bull Dogs vs The Hardy's in a TLC match
A heel Shawn Michael's vs Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Owen's vs C.M.Punk in a no DQ match (think of their independant days)
Ric Flair vs John Cena
Randy Savage vs Rick Rude (winner gets the rights to Liz for a month)
The Rock vs Sting
Brock Lesner vs Chris Benoit
Chris Jericho vs Eddie Guerrero
Trish Stratus vs Sensational Sherri (loser gets their pussy eaten on live tv)

How's that? Lol

It is coming down to a lackluster card and nothing has been announced.

The spectacle called "Wrestlemania" will draw but will they crack 100K attendance record??

Now with New Japan coming in, this might shake things up. Be interesting to see if Balor gets a call up to join his Bullet club buddies. They could throw them right into a feud with Wyatt's.

Lol...

In all seriousness...here is my prediction for the next couple of months....
HHH enters as the 30th entrant into the Royal Rumble. Wins the title. Then he and Roman Reigns can have that dream scrap of employee vs employer at WM where Reigns defeats the authority and wins the title back.

Rumors are saying Roman will win the Rumble and go onto face HHH at WM...

What is interesting is there are no challengers for Taker and Brock.....

Is the Rock going to wrestle or just have a guest roll? I wouldn't mind the Rock versus Brock. Some box office #'s there plus Brock owes the Rock a job for when Rock put him over at SS back in the day for Brock's 1st WWE title win. If Sting is healthy, he can scrap Taker.

Right now it is looking to be quite a lackluster card

HHH vs Reigns

Taker vs Straumann....please no

Brock vs Wyatt......am torn on this as I see Brock going over.....they really need to start elevating Wyatt.....they heat him up then cool him down all the time...

Taker vs Straumann is only a rumour but who knows. I just cannot justify paying on average 400 bucks a ticket for average WM seats to watch this nonsense.

Ironically, Wrestlemania has become a real problem for Vince & Co. It puts a lot of pressure on them to come up with a blockbuster show when there's really nothing big happening at the present time.

There are a few interesting things going on: AJ, Kevin Owens, Nakamura & Sasha. I even like the Dudley Boys turn, but there's nothing which merits renting out a 100k seat venue.

Unfortunately there is nothing "blockbuster" about it anymore. The old farts that they bring back for the 3 months leading into WM need to retire permanently. They need to let the under stars develop or there will be no Wrestlemania tomorrow.

I can't remember a year when it seemed so forced. They're looking at a Main Event of HHH vs either Brock/Reigns/Ambrose. Does anyone care enough about these potential match ups to merit a stadium show? According to Meltzer, a Reigns win at Fastlane means a Brock / Bray Wyatt WM match. Bray is not a main eventer and Brock is doing just enough to get paid.

Also, the effects of the three hour Raw are taking its toll. The wrestlers are already overexposed. So, it's hard to care about any PPV event.

The three hour Raw is bad yes, I agree with you there. There is way to much over exposure.

Wade Keller had an interesting thought in Stone Cold's show...

Reigns vs HHH at WM.....Rock in Roman's corner. Roman wins and when Rock goes to raise his hand, he turns on him, beats the heck out of him, immediate heel heat. This is the only way he will get over, granted as a heel.

IMO this can set up a good feud with Ambrose, a returning Rollins now a face etc etc

While I'm a regular listener to Wade's Podcasts, I will respectfully disagree.

Rock is a bigger star than either Reigns or HHH. Having him at ringside would minimize the match as everyone will be waiting to see Rock get involved.

If Rock is gonna be at WM, have a match. Having him there and not wrestle is getting "A little bit pregnant."

Rock will not wrestle. After the fiasco a few years back when he tore his abductor muscle or obliques when wrestling Cena....it pushed all his movies back a few months....

I see him in a promo role like he did last year

He couldn't wrestle even if he wanted to. He has obligations with Hollywood as he's in the middle of making another movie. The WrestleMania appearance is just that, an appearance in a non wrestling role. In and out.
