Biggest scam part 2
« on: December 24, 2015, 12:58:05 PM »
To follow up on my thread regarding alimony being one of the biggest scams out there, I want to talk about adults inviting their adult friends to their child's birthday parties. Obviously this is much smaller scam than alimony but what the fuck? They are just inviting their friends to get more presents, what a rip off. Can't believe how dumb some of these people are to actually show up to a child's party with a present, especially if you don't have a child yourself.

When I was a kid we invited our friends to our birthday parties, none of this bullshit of our parents inviting their friends. Waste of time and money.

You are correct.

It is only acceptable if booze is served and you are actual friends with the parents.

But, my friends know that when their kids have birthday parties, it's free time for the other adults.

Thought this would be a thread detailing goodrums lates welfare fraud...
But yes I agree, have two kids in primary school and plenty of parents invite the whole class to their kids party knowing only the bum family's will show up with no gift

They do this for Facebook and Instagram pics. Every party now is heavily social media driven.

Why would I waste a day at a party with people i did not know and kids screaming everywhere? A party is a chance to dump your kid on someone else for a few hours with babysitting fee being the present.

Kids are the third biggest scam. Everyone expect a bliss and all they get is everlating spending of money and very little in return.

Biggest scams are couples deciding that the best place to have their wedding in the tropics and trying to guilt family and friends into giving up their well earned $$ and personal vacation time to attend.

To me I can't think of a more selfish act couples do to others besides those that get divorced less than 2 years after getting married and not even having the common courtesy to return the gifts they were given

fuckers. every single one of them

My friend "Joe" had a birthday for his 1 year old.. Ive known Joe for 22 years. He invited me. Small party--his immediate family and 3 of his best friends (I was one of them). What's wrong with him inviting me? Or, are you referring to those parents who invite ANYONE and EVERYONE just to get free his gifts? I mean, of course he would invite me, hes known me for 22 years.

At that age you kind of, nay, need the parents there. A childcare facility can only have one staff member per 4 kids under 2, a party would be no different. I have not experienced what OP said but would say fuck off if asked to an 8 year old's party unless the guy's wife was hot and slutty or something.

The 'joy' of having kids is highly overrated. I see so many parents who look depressed most of the time, while most child-free folks are way more relaxed & energetic.

So, he was referring to my friend "Joe" inviting me (who is his adult friend) to his child's birthday party (It was at his home.). I don't see a problem with this, no matter how old his kid is, especially since Ive known him for so long. It would be much different if he was inviting people who were not really close friends just for gifts.

X2. Do you ever see the joy on the parents faces when the kids are going to grandmas for the night? Parents can't wait to get rid of them. It doesn't take an expert body language reader to tell how down and shitty the average parent feels. One could argue I don't have kids so I don't know how it feels but I would say I don't have to step in shit to appreciate clean socks. Life is great why change that?

Still BS but more acceptable if you are super close to them. The ones who invite everyone even those who barely know or see the kid are the worst. It's all about getting more presents.

That's a slight generalisation...

Firstly, it depends on age group. If you have 4 kids in early 20s and aren't happy with who you're stuck with, you won't look happy. I had a kid (well she did) when I was 20 and I was energetic and happy, even if not always delighted to be in relationship.

I know a few people who had horror story exes and are now single, older and getting older by the day. They seem to have given up on life and being happy with someone.

I have other friends who have no kids, never have long term relationships and are happy as hell, love job and look great for age.

You cannot generalise. Someone could look down cos of job, family situation, whatever.

Do any of the people denigrating parenthood have kids? Don't give a cliche, cos unless you have one, chances are, you don't have a clue what it is like.

They also cannot wait to dump the kids off anywhere so they can have "date night"

Yep.

It's very simple, if you observe people you will easily see that people without kids are much happier and less stressed. It's not even close. Doesn't matter what they see, their true feelings are expressed on their faces and body language.
