I don't like it. Used to hate it. Single dad so I see my son on 26th to avoid any feeling of him being shared around.

I just see stress and anger come out in gf, parents and anyone else I stay around as they "prepare" for Christmas. For fuck sake, relax, it is a holiday. I don't know if it is the time off (my dad loves to be busy) or need to be perfect (gf is anal about cleaning and cooking, my mom is same, no Oedipus).

With the exception of my girlfriend, the rest of my family/extended family are atheist. It used to be a nice day to chill out, but lately it has become too much of a dick measuring contest re gifts etc. I really, really dislike that. The fact I am on getbig and just played a poker game online probably says something - it is 00.40 here.

Indeed. I had to explain my gym time in the basement as "doing a project". Yeah, Project Guns 20.

Would a Glock 26 be a good Christmas present to myself?

What is the purpose? For concealed carry, unless you need to put it in a pocket, I like the 19 better. It's a little bigger, much easier to control and holds a crap-ton of bullets

I am such a dick that if i gave someone a gun as a present they'd assume i wanted them to off themselves.

If i didn't give ammo they would get angrier, buy some and kill me before offing themselves/celebrating.

Yes concealed. Good point about the 19 holding more rounds and being just a little bigger.

Just spent an hour or so transcribing and adding to my Christmas message to my parents. I probably spent 45 minutes writing draft. They are 66 and 67 now... one of the most emotionally taxing things I have ever done, but I would rather this than one of them passing away without me saying something so meaningful. I can finally destress.

Better write something for gf but she no speak good engrish so I will get away with less.

My gym is closed for 2 days. I would bitch but I have had to work over holidays before and a gymrat's workout is not too high up on list of jobs to be done. Anyone admitted to emergency department tomorrow for overeating should be finded a large amount.

@ Radical Plato - hey I can be a cold fucker but when I wear heart on sleeve people appreciate it. I have not cried in 5 years (I remember the day and moment horribly, don't ask) so when I show some emotion it is aprreciated. Think I am just appreciating mortality and my parents' age.

I was only taking the piss.  My parents are elderly also, both in the last stages of their life with numerous health complications.  I just struggle to feel much love for them, they weren't the best parents growing up and although I think I should have some warm fuzzy feelings for them I just don't.  I probably have a little more compassion for my Mum, but my Dad is a cold, brutal old man.  Some of my siblings have organised to go see him tomorrow as he lives miles away and they asked me to come and I said 'No".  They try and guilt me by saying it may be the last time you see him and I go 'So what".
