I believe that if you are a Latter Day Saint, then you might have the same type of thing. I don't think they eat bacon either?

I get not eating things back before we knew about cooking properly and didn't have refrigeration.

Pigs only have one stomach where a cow has four.

Therefore thier bodies don't process/filter out chemicals nearly as well

Pork products containt contaminants in the meat/fat/bodies due their less efficient digestive systems and nature of their eating
