As said before, aside from public appearance and finance-related obligations (appearance, photos, acting, whatever), the guy is a shut-in hermit. Which is great, if that is what suits his personality. I believe people are surprised by this because supposedly a guy who is physically attractive and popular should be "swimming in hoes" and partying it up.

Many of these guys are hermits and hard to deal with socially. I have a close friend who turned pro and although I love the guy, it is a bit much to take at times. His thoughts, actions, and scheduling is all calculated and everything is on the damn clock. It is an extremely stressful way of living. Hence I do take lifting and nutrition seriously but will not compete as I cannot be under the gun constantly with the way my life is (i.e., normal).

About 30 years ago I realized that I didn't have what it took to be a competitive bodybuilder.  I had more.  So I went looking for more and found it in going back to school, getting a better job and raising a family.  I may not be the best at any of that but it certainly trumps a career in hoping for that "big break".

So many of these bootlickers will die alone in the fetid squalor of some Schmoetel after shooting scenes for a direct to video gay porn. 

A man that has a lifetime of memories worth recalling will never want for the comfort of a life well lived and a family that loves him.

It seems like you are trying to convince YOURSELF that you made the "right" life choices, nothing more. How have you found out what are the "dos" and "don'ts" at whatever age? yesterday I've been celebrating with a few of my a lot older friends, one is 48, another 52, both were at the same place - a huge event/rave with great music, lots of young (and older, but still not rotten in the head) people and we had lots of fun. They join me pretty often on regular parties too and have a great time, while many of guys of their age have been walking dead for a long time already, boring, slow, lifeless, scared, full of similar streotypes. If partying for you atumatically means getting drunk - you are lacking imagination sverely, just like majority.
