trump is really a plant.  Cruz is consolidating republican power, he's a staunch conservative with a proven willingness to shut down govt in order to stop spending.

Trump's goal is to destroy the chances of EVERY single republican.   he said today that if dems challenge cruz, it'll be 2-3 years in court, which disqualifies him.  And you know what?  There's a large % of idiots that follow trump, that will believe this crap.

I think you CAN become president if you were born in another country to American parents who are citizens......if you are born elsewhere to foreign parents and become a naturalized citizen (a la Arnold ) then you can NEVER EVER be president......I THINK!

Apparently in 2008 when John McCain was running for President it was not the case and a provision has since been added.

So that would make Cruz a natural born citizen with no issues according to the updated clause.

I believe Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father (who became a naturalized citizen in 2005) and until recently also held Canadian citizenship. Even if someone believes Obama was born in Kenya, how is Cruz any different in that respect: both were born to an American mother and a foreign father and, if we are to believe the Obama birther/Kenya CT, both were born in a foreign country.

Cruz is an interesting case.

Cruz's mother, Eleanor Darragh, was a US citizen from Delaware. His father, Rafael Cruz, was a Cuban national who had received a green card while living in the US (he eventually became a US citizen in 2005). Under American law, Cruz would be born an American despite having only one US citizen parent as long as that parent — his mother — had physically lived in the United States for at least 10 years and five of those years had been after her 14th birthday. Cruz's mother easily cleared that bar, so Cruz's citizenship is not debatable.

you're right...it could be.....from what I understand this issue has NEVER been affirmed by any court...its sort of like an ASSUMPTION that no one has ever challenged ion court...the supreme court has NEVER taken up this issue
