No Headphone Jack for Iphone 7

It's being reported that Apple is going to remove the headphone jack for the iphone 7 and utilize the lightning port  for headphones or you can just use wireless. Apparently, this will free up valuable interior real estate and make the phone easier to truly waterproof. I dunno.    I hate wireless headphones and I listen to my phone with headphones while it is charging.

I hate iphones, they are terrible - I'm just so pissed off Samsung copied them with S6 (and I realised it after I got one... free... but still). You should be able to add memory (used to be able to on samsung til s6), you should be able to swap sims (could on samsung til s6) and the usb port should be universal (apple were sly cu nts in how they dodged eu law - they said universal chargers meant the bit that plugged into wall and got away with it  )...

Still, they make a shitload of money and my dad has a shitload of their shares so - go buy it.

It's hardly innovative. Apple could put their logo on a turd and people would line up for 3 days to buy it. Cloud is being pushed so heavily (by Microsoft, Apple, Google...everyone) because subscription pays more than once off payment. MS office is now €70 or so a year instead of a once of payment - adobe did same, apple is doing the same and expanding ppm options. It is bleeding people of money, they don't consider the cost.

They are trying to follow the business model of the old Bell System of leasing the equipment in the home.  You could connect nothing to your home telephone connection, only company provided (and installed) equipment.

So the idea of the cloud is actually a new name for "Time Sharing"...If the data processing "power" is on the company premises...they are in control...it means they have the power to get a long term continuous cash stream going.


I personally use Office 95...Somehow I bet newer computers won't run old software.

Yes, because it's ideal to carry around two sets of headphones.  Basically all this is going to do is create more assholes that blare their music out loud since they won't be spending another couple hundred on new headphones.  The ultimate resolution will be a3.5 mm jack to lightning port adapter but I bet Apple will make it difficult to do.
