I think of the entire presentation, i.e., Arnold not only possessed a superb physique but also a rapier like wit and enough charm to make the world his own. Reeves had facial good looks coupled with a physique that together is still (albeit subjectively) non pareil. These are but two examples of men that made more of themselves than just a bodybuilder.
Coleman is 300 pounds of shit (70s parlance for drugs) in a 70 IQ. John said it best.
Muscularly obese.
As for prior to his "success" as a bodybuilder, I am not concerned with that. He was average for a drugger and I freely admit that I am biased against him for the aforementioned reasons. He is subject to my personal litmus test of what greatness as it relates to bodybuilding means.
It may sound like faint praise but I think Coleman is better than Kai. But then Kai is a slut, so reality is Coleman would have to be a horrid person to be worse than Kai and he is not. Coleman is just an average bodybuilder made grossly overbuilt by drugs who happens to be as dumb as box of busted Legos.
But who cares about their personalities if we are STRICTLY judging their physique.
Arnold was known to be a MAJOR PRICK back in the day. Yet, you still like his physique. Ferrigno is currently a MAJOR douchebag, but you still like his physique back in the day.
So, it seems like youre judging Ronnies physique based on his personality, but not doing the same when it comes to Arnold. Again, Arnold wasn't the nicest person back in the day either. In fact, as stated above, he was pretty much an asshole and not a nice person. But, Arnold gets a pass?

As for Ronnie being an average bodybuilder, well, when you compare his past physique to the people of the golden era, you would have to say their physiques were average. In the above pic, Ronnie has more of the classic look when compared to when he got disgustingly big.
