Good to see he wasn't an insecure beta who wasn't afraid to come off and let his body rest.
No reason to look huge and ripped year round when you can still look good (for the ladies) and get right back into competitive shape with a flick of a vial-top/dbol bottle and weights.

Problem is, Phil is narrow and 5'9. While Arnold is wide and 6'2. Height and good bone structure go a long way. Arnold could afford to go soft and flabby without looking like a fat midget.

Just another example of how this is all drugs. I used to get upset when I read that, but it's just the truth. Some respond better than others and Arnolds receptors were blessed for gear.

Arnold was always tall and handsome. Even if he was softer at times he didn't look like a bloated pile of diarrhea like Rhoden, Heath, cutler, branch and company in the off season.

Eventhough Off-Season, Phil has some muscles on his frame ffs. He looks like a BB, Arnold looks like an Average Joe on these pics

Arnold got big in the offseason like in the 1974 mr southern hemisphere. These slim pics are confused with retirement time.
The pic laying on the beach is 1977 as is this one

but then look how much bigger he actually is next to an average guy and flexing
