This may be an ignorant question, but do you have to worry about crocs in smaller lakes like that?
No. Crocodiles are only found across the northern tip of Australia. And even then, they are only found close to the coast. Crocs are frightening beasts, trust me if there was crocs in that lake you wouldn't have the people being so relaxed, although sometimes you hear of stories of people getting drunk and swimming in croc infested waters, occasionally one gets eaten. So this footage is from Melbourne which is in the South. You can get some pretty dangerous snakes though, but you almost never see them.
You know the thing I have too watch out for the most, birds. Fucking Magpies swoop on you from behind, especially if you are cycling and make this sudden clacking sound just as they are behind you and whack your head with their beak, the fuckers can draw blood and scare the shit out of you.
And every time they do it I want to kill the fuckers, but they are a protected species.
