If people stopped having kids that would be fine with me, or they can keep having them I dont care.

When I was born, my mother took a couple years off work to stay home with me. Perhaps others should do that.

But if no one ever had kids again, then the human race will eventually die out. This does not seem like a realistic solution to the problem.

Do you really think the human race is going to stop having kids?

Of course not. With that said, its the way it is. Gay couple cant have kids or someone is medically incapable of having kids. Okay, that stinks for them, but it still doesn't take away from the rights of parents to be there for their child when they need to. Is this fair to the gay couple or to the couple who can't have kids? Nope, its not. But as you always say, "Life's not fair." (in some fashion). Society has determined that some privileges may be granted to certain people in certain situations. You don't like it, tough (just like you often imply). It's what keeps society running effectively, and that is more important than your individual right.

Just like new parents are granted maternity and paternity leave because we have determined that initially bonding with the child produces the best outcomes for the child and for society as a whole. As such, this trumps your individual right.

That's a defeatist attitude SF. People with kids already get huge tax breaks, they don't need to pile on extra work for the rest of us. Whether you leave work early to take care of your kid or got to the model train convention it should be treated the same way.

If you like staying late and working weekends because Joe Coworker needs to spend time with little Timmy that's fine but some of think it's bullshit.

It's a realistic attitude and one you're not willing to accept because it dies not fit in with your worldview.

Taking care of a dying child is not the same as visiting a train show. It's absolutely asinine to compare the two. Yes, yes, it's all about subjectivity. But from an objective standpoint, they are demonstrably different and society has deemed it thus so for very good reason. Again, life's not fair (just quoting you).

One thing that does make me feel better about this injustice is that these parents who slack at work to take care of their kids end up getting fewer promotions and make less money. That is the real reason why women tend to make less money than men, bcause they are often the ones to take off work to care for the children.

There was actually a study done on this, I assume you have heard of it.

I guess everything evens out in the end.

e) I will supervise fewer PhD candidates.

In most jobs it will be comparable- skipping work means getting a handicap in the workplace competition.

Marriage is a legally binding financial document. Great for a woman, bad for a man. 60% of the time, divorce is the result. Divorce courts are all for women, not men. Men need to smarten up.

The Banking/Financial System
The main purpose of credit and debt is the total enslavement of you. Never buy things you can't afford with money you don't have. Buy some gold and silver for long term wealth protection. ISIS is a joke... the real terrorists work in central banking and Wall St.

Having Kids
The government needs people to have kids... more debt/wage/tax slaves. The US/world is turning into a shithole. Morals, values and jobs are disappearing like a fart in the wind. People wanting to bring a child into this world are naïve, ignorant and probably very selfish too.

So happy I've managed to keep my cock in check so far when reading threads like this. I like that some people are honest and admit what a chore it is to properly raise kids. One - it can be manageable, two - it gets difficult, but with the right money supply - manageable enough, but three... anyone who have above two kids get my respect, I can't imagine myself raising up more than one kid if ever, but three just sounds like a superhero move, props to these people, they must have a strong motivation for that shit..

People are waiting longer now to get married, which results in more "mature" marriages. The data suggests the "50%" was in the 70s, and represents more of an anomaly than reality.

Everyone are biased and want the data that supoorts their choices to feel more comfortable. How about everyone just does however they feel is right and doesn't look around of what other people do. I've been living like that for quite some time and it's liberating. Don't compare, just accept every different path of life as an individual choice (or "choice") and keep going your own way if you feel good doing that. That data varies from country to country a lot also. Who cares really, if you feel good doing whatever you are doing and don't harm anyone - just continue... Some people would be miserable without creating a family, some are built to live single, some are gays, some are damaged beyond repair, many, many different realities and far from a "single recipe" that suits everyone. I'm probably repeating myself u are right, I just feel so liberated that I wish everyone would feel in a similar fashion, would be a lot less arguments, anger and conflicts in real world too.
