Naproxen never did shit for me. The only PK that ever worked was ibuprofen and that includes all the opiates. I have a weird metabolism where they don't actually provide pain relief.

All that said, I don't even take ibuprofen any more because unless you are chronically inflamed with tendonitis, there's nothing wrong with a little inflammation, especially if you train.

Naproxen
Tramadol
Ibuprofen
Co-codamol
Aspirin
Paracetamol

Used them all ( Not all at once  ;) )
Find which work best for you.

Ibuprofen & paracetamol or co-codamol
Work well for me.

Bad idea unless really needed.
I hate to do it, but I'm taking Ibuprophen 2-3 times a day to help my forearm, will do it 2 weeks.

Don't try and train over it, you'll just end up in worse shape that you were.

Ibuprofen (and other NSAIDs) probably are the most effective OTCs, but too much too often can cause stomach problems. Tylenol, on the other hand, is probably safer, just never did a damn thing for me pain-wise. Tough on on the liver, though, f you exceed rec dosage.

Wouldn't recommend prescription painkillers for any gym-related pain; end up causing WAY more problems than they fix. They work TOO well is where the trouble usually starts.

Constant pain also is telling you something.
You should listen and not just shut it up.

I have had 5 major back surgeries including 2 fusions. Pain is worse than ever. I take 2-50 mg morphine sulfate extended release each day along with 5- 10-325 Norco for break through pain. I have actually cut my pain meds in 1/2 to that cause I could never shit.

NSAID is best for "workout pain"

Vicodin/norco are mostly NSAID filler anyway. I can pop 15 of those and barely feel it, but I started opiates by mainlining Oxy years ago so it takes a lot for me to get my rocks off drug wise nowadays...

Workout pain?? Do you mean injury or just regular muscular soreness? If you need painkillers for the latter then you need to stop training and take up knitting or flower arranging or some other fag shit

Have you looked into various strains/forms of weed? Highly effective pain reliever for some without addiction/withdrawal/sides of opiates.

What caused all those back problems?

I have 2 different degenerative diseases plus with 5 failed surgeries over the last 16 years I have a massive amount of scar tissue. Over 40 injections as well.

I smoked weed when I was young from 13 to 32 yrs of age. Not trying to sound like the typical getbigger here but I actually am a corporate manager for a Fortune 500 Company and don't want to risk it. Even though they would probably never drug test someone in my position. But why chance it. When I retire I will definitely switch to weed.

A little Valium, midazolam, and propfol never hurt anyone while trying to push through the pain.

I used diclofenac for rotator cuff tendonitis pain. For the relief of extreme muscle soreness i believe there is nothing helpfull.
The best pain relief is to avoid what creates the pain, or workout around injuries.

I use naproxen for 3 days straight if I have a pull or something (read it needs to stay in bloodstream for that period to be effective).  One 12 hr pill 2x a day is easier than ibuprofen.

For normal soreness, nothing.

Ibuprofen is really against inflammation but by acute pain not really much help.
