According to an FBI criminal complaint, FBI undercover agents were able to stop a man from a religious-based mass terrorist shooting in Milwaukee.
The arrest happened on Monday following a purchase of fully automatic weapons from the undercover agents. The target was apparently a Masonic Center in Milwaukee, where they had the goal of killing as many as 30 people in an attack that would be "known the world over."
An FBI affidavit said that agents had been investigating Samy Mohamed Hamzeh, 23, for threats he had made on people in and outside the U.S. from as early as September of last year. There was no initial word on where Hamzeh is from, or if he was working for a particular terrorist organization.
According to the affidavit, Hamzeh and two others had gone to a Milwaukee-area firearm range and practiced handguns last Tuesday.
They then went to a Masonic center in Milwaukee and had a tour.
The next day, according to the affidavit, the three men discussed plans on attacking the Masonic Center.
The affidavit shared these quotes, reportedly from Hamzeh, which it said came from a recording from that meeting, with translation to English:
"We want two machine guns, you now have one, so we want two more, and we need three silencers, that's it. Find out how much all together these will cost, then we will march.'
"... each one has a weapon, each one has a silencer gun, the operation will be one hundred percent successful. I am telling you, to go without silencer gun, you will be exposed from the beginning."
"...one of us will stay at the door at the entrance and lock the door down, he will be at the main door down, two will get to the lift up, they will enter the room, and spray everyone in the room. The one who is standing downstairs will spray anyone he finds. We will shot them, kill them and get out. We Will walk and walk, after a while, we will be covered as if it is cold, and we'll take the covers off and dump them in a corner and keep on walking, as if nothing happened, as if everything is normal. But one has to stand on the door, because if no one stood at the door, people will be going in and out, if people came in from outside and found out what is going on, everything is busted."
