Modern bodybuilding is the creation of a bisexual man and by that I don't mean bisexual men are more sexual than men of other sexual orientations, but from this perspective and, considering that bodybuilding is all about enhacing secondary sex traits and showing them all off the sexual aspect of it can never be isolated.

In this sense, one can say that heterosexual men have tried to appropriate bodybuilding which, from a patriarchal perspective, isn't supposed to attract them because the male body isn't supposed to be their obsession. Miss Universe is made to please the heterosexual male gaze; it would make no sense if gay men tried to appropriate the Miss Universe.

    Lee is invited for a guest appearance, between contests. In the middle of the crowd there are fans, men and women, bodybuilders, and the obvious schmoes. Should Lee leave and disappoint all his fans because there were some greaseballs in the audience? Lets get real, all pros had to deal with this kind of situation.
    Even Arnold back in the day.

I really don't think Arnold would have posed nude in the private room of another man. This is the 70s we are talking about.

Sounds like a pretty big leap to imply that homosexuality has always been at the core of bodybuilding.

I bet you're going to tell me they were using steroids in the 60's too?
