Grease Live vs. The Wiz Live

Yeah, I know it's gay to watch musicals but I like Grease so fuck off.  

The Wiz itself is a Hebraic version of the Wizard of Oz.  The live event on NBC was essentially all Hebrews, if I recall 100% Hebrews as it should be because the source was written that way.  Not racist, not offensive but the way it was written and performed.

Yesterday Grease Live was on.  They decided to make one of the T-Birds Hispanic/black, one of the Pink Ladies black and a few other white characters black.  They even gave the black chick a solo and a song not even in the movie.  They went above and beyond the original source material and changed the story to fit the "diversity" initiative.  Why did Grease feel compelled to brown up the show a bit but the Wiz didn't give a flying fuck to add whites to theirs?
