whats going on my friends. i have a question/favor to ask of any and all of you who can give me a hand. last year, i had attended the arnold and had witnessed some of the most amazing lifting i have ever been exposed too. it was at that time that i wanted to convert from regular lifting to powerlifting. my problem remains that i am having a hard time figuring out where to begin. let me give you an example of my current workout routine:
Monday - Shoulders & Bis Smith Machine Military Press 5x10,8,6,4,2 Dumbell Side Lateral 3x10-6 Small Straight bar Front Raise 3x10-6 Cable Rear Delts (overhead) 3x12-10 Barbell Shrug 3 or 4x10-6 Cambered Bar Curl 5x12-6 Standing Alt. Dumbell Curl 3x10-6 Dumbell Hammers 3x8-6
Tuesday - Legs Squats 5x10,8,6,4,2 or 1 Leg Press 4x10-6 Rack Squats 3x10-6 Leg Exten 3x10 Stiff legged DL 3x8-6 Lying Leg Curl 3x10
Thursday - Chest & Tris Bench Press 5x10,8,6,4,2 Incline Dumbell 4x10-6 Rack Presses 3x6-2 Machine Flye 3x10 Close Grip Bench 4x10-6 Overhead Dumbell Ext 3x8-6 Pushdowns 3x10-6
Friday - Back Deadlifts 5x10,8,6,4,2 Barbell Bent Rows 3x8-6 Lat Pulldown 4x10-6 HS Seated Row 3x8-6
thats pretty much how i train now. i need help in converting over to more of a powerlifting style of training. i want to compete someday. i have the size and structure to be one of the greats someday, but i have to start lifting like a powerlifter if i truly want to be one. is there anybody who can help me rework my way of training? any help is far more than appreciated.
