Pope Vs Trump
« on: February 18, 2016, 10:31:36 AM »
The Pope called the wall non-Christian. Trump is getting all the attention as a result but Cruz is also in favor of a wall and Rubio wants a fence.

The Pope needs to STFU and mind his own business.  He's not in a position to call people out, unless he wants to start with people in his own organization.  That would be a great place to start, as a matter of fact.

I do think that the Pope opens himself up to some very real criticism with his comments.

This is an awful lot like Obama and many members of both Houses of Congress living in gated communities with the full expectation that the rest of us endure horrific Third World crime and disease. Or...a lot like Obamacare where they exempt themselves.

Yes, the worst people are actually hidden behind walls on private estates, with the ability to jet toward anywhere on earth at the drop of a command, fleeing at a moment's notice.

And they're throwing the rest of us to the wolves without the slightest concern.

Trump Denies Questioning Cruz' Faith While Calling Him a Liar
By Sandy Fitzgerald
Friday, 19 Feb 2016

Donald Trump on Friday said that he was not questioning Ted Cruz' Christianity, like Pope Francis did his own on Thursday, when he questioned the Texas senator's honesty in several statements.

"I'm not questioning his faith," Trump told NBC's "Today" show reporters Savannah Guthrie and Willie Geist. "I did say that Ted Cruz holds up the Bible and then lies. He's been caught on almost all occasions. He did voter violation forms, which is a fraud. He did so many things so bad. I've never seen anything like it."

Earlier this week, Trump tweeted and posted a statement to his website about the issue, saying online that it is "hard to believe a person who proclaims to be a Christian could be so dishonest and lie so much," after calling Cruz a "totally unstable individual" and the "single biggest liar I've ever come across."

And on Friday, Trump repeated those comments, saying that "Ted Cruz lies. Everybody knows he lies. It's disgraceful and, yet, he says he's an evangelical Christian . . . I'm just saying, he says it."

Also on the show's phone interview, Trump argued with Guthrie about his statements concerning the war in Iraq, and when she said that voters in South Carolina are seizing on the issue, he responded, "I think you're seizing on it; I don't think the voters are seizing on it."

"I don't know if he [former President George W. Bush] lied or not," Trump  told her. "He could have. Maybe he did and maybe he didn't. I guess you'd have to ask him. Whatever, the decision to go into the Middle East, Iraq, was one of the worst decisions in the history of our country."

He further shot down a question about a 2002 interview with talk show host Howard Stern, who he told "I guess so" when asked if the United States should go to war with Iraq.

"That was long before the war started," he said. "By the time the war started — and you have documentation of this — by the time the war started, I was against it. Don't forget, I wasn't a politician. Nobody cared about my opinion. That was just a question asked of me. I was a civilian. I was an entrepreneur."

And also wants to prevent the abused little boys from escaping.

the new pope is a jackass. he trying too hard to be all 'progressive' and has chimed in on lots of political stuff, always (except abortion) siding with the libtards.

he is a clueless hypocritical dipshit...he has:

1. said weapons/gun manufacturers cannot call themselves Christians (while being surrounded by heavily armed security 24/7 in a heavily fortified compound, not to mention the fact that the popes has been defended by armed mercenaries(swiss guards) for hundreds of years)

2. said anyone wanting to build walls is not a Christian (oh the irony-the Vatican is surrounded by massive walls and fortifications and has been for centuries)

3. as with all popes, he advocates for 'the poor' whilst living in the most opulent palace in the world , filled with the most ostentatious amount of gold and valuables in one place on earth, wearing silk and jewels and being pampered 24/7 while the actual poor are literally sitting on the other side of his 40-foot palace WALLS begging for money (the ironic display is painfully obvious to experience in person)

The wall was built 1300 years ago and the gates are WIDE OPEN.

You can walk in and out of the Vatican without so much as a pause.

It's not even close to the same thing.

mark levin made a great point.

The pope is angry about US immigration policy.  While it may be a LITTLE cruel... there are parts of the world where govts are a LOT cruel, killing people and letting people die in the streets.

did any of you 'conservatives' catch his show today?

This is the precise reason why the 1st amendment is in the constitution. The church doesn't get to dictate US policy..
