I bet Nick is fuming now that his younger brother is making millions and not him.

Hopefully Nick will get a shot someday in 10 years or so :D

Knowing Nick, he might do something stupid before, during, or after this fight and get another suspension, especially if nate gets Brutally KOed

I actually think with a full camp Diaz style could present Connor with a few problems. I don't think he will have the cardio to maintain the distance and punch output to keep him outside where he needs to. Connor by KO late in round 1 like he said or any other round after the first minute.

I hope Diaz kicks the living shit out of McGregor.

McGregor is a business man. Diaz will end up on public assistance in the near future. McGregor is your man ;)

I agree, he won't gain by beating nate, but What if he loses to nate,  the stocks would come tumbling down.  I'd rather have him lose to the top guys then guys like nate

Conor wanted Nick Diaz, Dana offered Urijah Faber..

Cerrone, Nate & Pettis were the other options.

Edgar, DosAnjos & Aldo all backed out..

Nate a top contender was the best option out of EVERYBODY available money-wise & rank-wise.

I'm pretty sure that Nick was in the crowd at the press conference; mouthing off at Conor.

Yes, that was why Conor said "Nick, Nick, your bro is doing great up here".

Conor wanted Nick as well.

While Nate Diaz was selected as Rafael dos Anjos' replacement at UFC 196, Conor McGregor was interested in locking horns with his older brother.

"The Notorious" spoke to FOX Sports Live on Wednesday and said he was enquiring about Nick's suspension.

"I certainly did ask when Nick's ban is up," said McGregor.

"He's still banned so either is good for me. Maybe somewhere down the line I'll probably contest against both, I feel."

Nick was in attendance and, according to McGregor, looked notably uncomfortable in the audience.

"Nick is proud of his little brother," said McGregor. "I could see it up there. He was worried for him or something. I could see it. I had to tell him, 'Nick, he's doing well up here. Relax.' But that's his baby brother so it is what it is."

Conor talks a lot of shit about not caring about weightclasses but the truth is that weight really does matter.  It matters in boxing and it definitely matters in mma.  He's a great fighter and creates fun drama, but don't be surprised if he struggles against a much heavier opponent than he's used to in Diaz.  I've seen it time and time again, a guy that can hurt guys in a certain weight class moves up a couple classes and all of a sudden the fighters can absorb his shots much better.  Perhaps this won't be the case, but I do believe it's a real possibility.
For a wrestler the jump in weight classes would be on point with your argument and even a boxer but keep in mind Conor at his weakest knocks people out with a mammoth weight cut. Hid power will be insane at 170. Remember Rumble johnson didn't fair well at 170 or at 185 but at 205 he knocks people out.

Nate will be out cold in the first round and for those who say he has nothing to gain.... how about 7 million dollars for an easy fight

Gain 25 pounds.  Your balance is weak.  You don't add 20% punching power with the 20% weight gain.  You're slower.  You don't react the same.  He may control that body in a few months, but not yet.  Looked awkward when he used to look graceful.  Added a lot of useless fat and bloat.  Probably used to feel awesome all day, and now feels constipated and bloated.

Post fight interviews Conner was classy. Took the loss good considering. Said he's going back down to 145 to defend his belt and he'll take a look at 155. He thinks Diaz should get a title fight in 155 and maybe he will fight the winner of that...

Nice to hear. Maybe he's not a total asswad. Humbled is what he needed to be.

I look forward to Holly Holm showing Rhonda how one should deal with defeat.

Apparently, I should've bet the rent money. ;)

To be honest, it wasn't a good fight to bet big, as you didn't really know what you were gonna get from Nate because of the short notice.

Nate's reach is what makes the fight interesting. The "fighting midgets" is a fair criticism of Conor.

I wouldn't bet the rent money, but, I could see him getting a decision in a stand up fight, and a submission if he can get to the ground.

And my prediction for UFC196
Conor by tko vs diaz in round 1 or 2

It looked that way then Diaz warmed up and McGregor could hardly take it when he started getting hit with real punches.

Initiated a takedown out of desperation and got tapped out.

It's as if Diaz actually likes getting punched in the face. That's very rare. McGregor certainly doesn't like being punched. Diaz face was all bloody and he would smile at McGregor. That fucks with a persons head. That smile is basically telling him that he's no knocking anyone out and it's going to be a long fight... Tyson didn't like being punched in the face. Holyfield was like Diaz, he didn't mind being punched in the face...
