Avg Joe Blow in a contest
« on: March 19, 2006, 06:03:10 PM »
I think that at least 40% of the guys that compete in the npc national shows are delusional if they think they have a chance . I would be the last person to say a guy or gal should not go for it and perhaps some just want the thrill and goal of being on a national level stage, etc. However, I get the impression that we have a lot of deluded "wanna be" types, that for lack of genetics , drive or drugs don't stand a prayer of EVER making the final cut.

I think more guys would be a lot happier if they accepted who they are and competed in local and state shows. I have to admit, it discourages me from competing when I think about doing a national level NPC show.I am quite content to watch the more gifted guys at the top shows and do my thing on the lower level. I hear and see a lot of guys that quit doing shows once they realize a pro card is not in their reach. That is sad and should not happen. In my case I am going for the 2006 NPC Knox bodybuilding/fitness classic. It is a well run regional show and a NON qualifier for the nationals. I feel I have a shot, ...to battle ;)

Hey did you two both go to a Ronny Teufel seminar in PA in the late seventies?  This would have been long before BIX got banned from www.ironage.us/yabbse

No that seminar was in NH , I would not travel to PA for a silly seminar by some one with a Cop Wish ;)

Dear Howard:

Putting on a thong, oiling up your body, and prancing around a stage for an audience of mostly men is teh gay.

Hope this helps.

Gear Gotaboy, yes some guys let this "gay for pay " issue get their goats ;)..but not the H man.
It is only as GAY as the observer thinks it is, which in YOUR case, we now know what you think when watching bodybuilders ;D
