My Favorite Moment of The 2016 Election Cycle
« on: February 28, 2016, 04:51:48 PM »
Politics can be a rough and tumble business and I wouldn't have it any other way. You state your positions in front of the electorate with passion and let them decide which route they want to take.

From a political standpoint I simply don't have that much in common with John Kasich but I can appreciate the appeal he has among some.

For whatever reason Kasich's message spoke to this young man who was dealing with a lot of really tough issues and to such a degree that he drove a ton of miles to meet the man he really respects and request a simple, warm embrace. His sharing of his faith was also a truly inspiring moment as well.

my favorite easily was either:

when some corrupt ex-president of mexico said 'we arnt goin g to pay for your f*** wall' to TRUMP; upon hearing this, TRUMP said simply 'the wall just got 10 feet higher'

 ;D

like him or not this is how I want our top guy to operate:from a clear position of strength and dominance (esp towards mexico)

You want our leader to make policy decisions based on someone offending him?

no, I want our leader to operate from the position of strength and power that is due the leader of America. it has nothing to do with 'offending' anyone; the simple fact is is that mexico has been taking a dump all over us for years both economically and at the border.

America is the first global superpower in history to 1) operate from a  position of political correctness and 2) display meek and often submissive stances/reactions in dealings with inferior nations.

for example, mexico turns a blind eye and passively allows and likely encourages tens of millions of its 'problem/burden' citizens to illegally enter the untied states. everyone knows what is going on. yet instead of doing anything about it, THEIR leaders have the audacity to make demands of US, to opine publically how the united states should 'do more' for these said illegals and basically should simply allow them all in and give them whatever 'rights' they demand...the last several Mexican presidents have all been of this opinion and have not been shy about saying it...look it up. if a country can simply export its poor/problem people, they don't have to deal with them; they are happy to see them go and probably laugh at the 'pendejo' US politicians who bend over backwards in political correctness to oblige them.

America needs to operate like the power it is...WE hold all the cards and have ALL the power in these negotiations, period. if Mexico was abusing Rome, or the British Empire, or any great power in history like they are doing to us, how do you think they would have handled things??

the era of letting America be walked all over for the sake of political correctness needs to end-THAT is why I can appreciate the dynamic of the above exchange. THAT is the attitude America needs to take when a lesser nation tries to strong-arm US.

Good points and I agree with most of what you say.  I just think we can operate from a position of strength without handing reigns to someone like Trump.

Also, I have zero faith that Trump will keep his word or that he can do the things he has promised.  He cannot explain how he intends to accomplish pretty much anything.

I agree with that...ive always liked TRUMP but hes too much of a wild card  :-\

if he truly keeps his word he ahs the potential to be a great president actually...but its only 'potential'. Cruz is the real deal and we know exactly how he would operate.

in any case, I would gladly vote for TRUMP over any filth the dems offer up. with TRUPM, its a 40%ish chance he ends up being a lefty/disaster. with Hillary its 100%.

By working to continue the trend that's been in place since the day GWB took office, which has seen ALL employment growth go to immigrants?  Shitting on the American people, in other words?  That's how he operates.

The neo-cons have taken over the GOP and they've infiltrated the Democrats.

So don't worry, you'll get yours.  Her name is Hillary.

I actually think Cruz is the smartest and would do the best job of the remaining bunch, but I doubt he could survive in the general election.
