Frank Zane or Branch Warren?

I am likely one of the few who listened to that recent Bostin Loyd podcast interview. One of the things he was adamant about is that everyone would rather look like a mass monster of today rather than Frank Zane.

While I do not hold Bostin's logic or critical thinking in high regard, it was a bit interesting.

So I was curious, is there anyone that would choose to look like Branch rather than Frank Zane? If you're not a competitor, then why?

Hmm, a person with Branch's mass but taller could work. What makes him look so terrible is his height not that Zane was all that tall anyway.

I'll have to pick Zane but only at his all time biggest. He was damn good then otherwise, he's just too thin.

Maybe he was trolling? And maybe it is he that would rather look like a mass monster?
Maybe it's a phase that we all go through? Almost all competitor bodybuilders from the 90s to now tended to look better their first few years or when they were lighter. The only really aesthetic mass monster was Dillett, and that is pushing it.

Bob Paris physique was the best, but given the choice between Zane and Branch, definitely Zane.

Even if Branch was 6'1-3" he'd look like a mutated T-Rex

If you listen to the interview, you can tell he's being serious.

You're on to something about the "phase" though. Most of us probably grow out of it once we hit college age and realize there is far more to being a fulfilled human than FLEX magazine-caliber muscles.

I really like Bostin's honesty and openness, but I would only urge my kids to learn from him what not to strive to be.
