What is wrong with this world, when Trump beats Cruz with the religious group in a southern state?

He's unstoppable.  George Will and I tried to tell everyone back in July of 2015 but nobody listened.  "he has no chance", they said.  Now he's unstoppable.  Trump should NEVER EVER win the evangelical vote.  It's unthinkable.

The most "evangelical" demographic in MS are not even counted by the media. Nor do they vote republican.

The U.S. corporate media media needs to cut the bullshit with their constant use of that term and tell it like it really is.

Yep, evangelical is a very broad term/used loosely nowadays.

For the sake of a poll isn't evangelical just a person who admits going to church? If you win big you win that demographic as well. Not surprising.

Aren't these #'s based on exit polls by people who "self identify" as Evangelicals?

If so, then I suspect these is an accurate representation

Worst are the "saved" people who lived as democrats, found God, and somehow support Trump/Rubio over Cruz.

Biggest hypocrites of the bunch.

I don't think they're as single issue as the RNC would have us believe and thus your current state of confusion. I think there is a core group of Christian right voters but I think the 14-24 million that the RNC and I think Cruz is counting on are not single issue and are looking at other things. Rush had a pretty good explanation today.

I support no candidates in any fashion but am an active observer. Mr. Cruz has admitted to dishonest strategies in this campaign. Can you provide examples of why you believe Trump to be dishonest?

Of course all politicians are typically dishonest.

I can but I'm curious, are you telling me you're not personally aware of the numerous examples of lying by Donald Trump?

Obama has spent his entire administration lying about the unemployment rate. They all lie and spin. Politics is a joke.

NO on both counts.

"Evangelical" as used by the established news media is coded language.
"To the pollster, it is a sociological term.
To the pastor, it is a denominational or doctrinal term.
And to the politician (AND THE NEWS MEDIA),it is a synonym for a white [so-called]Christian Republican.

"Technically speaking, evangelical refers to a person, church, or organization that is committed to the Christian gospel message that Jesus Christ is the savior of humanity."

THEREFORE...
"With state and national Republicans emphasizing religious wedge issues, such as health coverage for contraception and separation of church and state, the media have frequently reported on the demographic most aroused by these issues — evangelical voters. But have the media accurately portrayed these evangelical Christians?

For many, the answer is a resounding “no.”

News reports often leave the impression that all evangelical Christians are white and usually support the most conservative Republican candidates. Totally overlooked is the fact that many African-Americans, Latinos and other people of color are evangelical Christians whose views are rarely cited."
