Your health care is not free.. I am pretty sure that your employer passes some of the cost of onto you. Also, what happens when you get married and have kids? will they be covered for free as well? what happens if you get fired or change jobs?
Look at it this way... currently we are paying the highest cost for healthcare on the planet with universal healthcare the cost will go down.
My healthcare is free to me. My employer pays for it 100%. I understand that my employer is paying roughly 500-600 a month for my premium. This is the conundrum. True Adonis tells me that once Berniecare takes effect, that my employer will give me a raise, because they will be saving so much money on their end. I think he might be living in fantasy land if he thinks any major employer is going to pass those savings onto their employees in the form of a raise.
Bottom line: If Berniecare goes into effect, I will owe more in taxes per year, my employer will save money on my premium, and I will not get a raise. How does this help anyone but the employer?
