The best comparison for trump would be what berlusconi did to Italy

entertaining fellow, would be interesting to hear what Italians think of that experience

If Cruz (if he is still close by the time) or Trump do not get nomination people will be so angry a lot won't vote at all despite the rightful hate of Hillary. They already realize how terrible the govt has been lately hence the voting for the two candidates both sides dislike. Let's see how high Cruz rises now that Rubio finally decided to drop out.

Why do you guys continue to talk about hatred for Hillary?  Apparently a lot of people like her and she is the front runner to win it all.  Maybe the republicans can't stand her but she is beloved in her party.

The biggest concern with Trump winning presidency is the social unrest it is bound to cause, at least for the first few months.

Nah.  It will be around the same time as the NFL season and the inauguration will be near the AFC and NFC championship games.  The majority of Americans will be sucked into the NFL to care what's going on around them.

We've had 16 straight years of a President that had little experience before being elected. Over the last 16 years the wage gap is higher than it's ever been. Real estate is unaffordable in parts of this country, gas has more than doubled in price. food is super expensive and we're in a bunch of endless wars.  So yes, you're right, it will be more of the same with Trump.  As much as I can't stand Hillary she is probably the best option to clean up a lot of the mess.

All by design. Presidents are selected, not elected since Texas 1963.

I know which shows how bad that side is. She's a proven criminal. As stated (not sure in this thread or not) it is more a product of simply voting for her due to name/party only. I would hope that is it and not that people actually like her (except feminists, etc.). That would say even more volumes about where our country is headed.

Trump vs. Hillary, Hillary will win.  She already has the female and senior votes.  She'll have the black and brown votes.  She essentially will trounce Trump.
Cruz vs. Hillary, Cruz is a neo conservatist.  he'll win the bible belt and a couple southern states but that's about it.  Hillary will dominate with the rest of the country.

Maybe, but I never thought that the anti-Obama crowd would take to the streets and riot over his victory. The anti-Trump crowd on the other hand...

I can just imagine various left wing groups, students and minorities uniting after the election result and creating havoc.

There was/is anger directed towards professional blacks.

I don't like Hillary at all either (that's why I find this "choice" so poor), but she's a lot "safer" option imho.

I think that the vitriolic anger against Obama was more hidden. People making remarks behind closed doors but not as openly vocal and aggressively as those attacking Trump.
The left are treating Trump like he's a Nazi and at times, almost encouraging violence against him and his supporters.

I remember a few bigots barking at work about a black president and how angry they were but that was about it.

I think the anti-Obama crowd were mostly just older white men who would constantly moan about him but wouldn't really go beyond that (ie Coach).
As far as I recall, there wasn't people attempting to physically attack Obama during his speeches, there wasn't large counter protests during his visits, there wasn't people getting into fights with demonstrators during his rallies.
Trump is fairly unique in that regards.

I actually agree. Said months ago that I'll believe it when I see it that a republican/third party beats a democrat. People got all excited last election about Romney and despite beating Obama on a lot of debates he lost rather easily. It's a testament to the party's overall power that she is even allowed in the race let alone leading convincingly.
I would vote for a democrat if they aligned with what I thought was best but most won't switch party lines no matter what out of laziness most likely.
The "good" thing is is that maybe this election is showing that a lot of people are fed up. Hopefully a lot in both parties feel that way. Republicans get voted in and do nothing to stop the downslide of our nation either. At this point each party is as much to blame as the other. A person can dream but like you (and I agree) I still would place money on Hillary to win if I had to.
Stupid conservatives are talking of not voting/write ins if Trump is the one. I would rather hope that Trump can/is a difference maker and vote for him then essentially give up a vote to Hillary when we all know exactly what we are getting with her.
If neither trump or Cruz get nomination they should align together or even if one does get it.

Although they lost and there was some grumbling, the anti-Obama crowd were still relatively mature and behaved about Obama winning.

Do you even begin to think the anti-Trump crowd are remotely capable of the same thing?

Liberals have turned politics into a "win at all costs" and no matter what, "the end justifies the means" and the last 8 years have pushed minorities further down and racially divided the country as bad as it has ever been

You equate the word minority with blacks.

There are many other minorities who struggle under the current Obama/DOJ incompetence

To be fair, when Obama won Blacks thought it was their time.  The rise of the blacks will happen, turned out the opposite occurred.

I'd re-word that a little....

When Obama won blacks thought it was "their time for some free shit"

Blacks/Liberals thought it was time to get their hands into the taxpayer cookie jar and loot it for some big screen TVs.

Obama was always just an incompetent pawn to the Dem establishment

Have you ever read the story of Obama's rise to fame?  After Bush's first term a bunch of Jewish billionaires searched for a short list of potential candidates they'd back and groom for the next election.  Obama was one.  John Kerry got killed by Bush but on that same election night the young deep voiced Obama stood on stage and electrified the crowd.  This group of Jews found their man.  For 4 years the prepped everything to get him ready to be the next president.  He was groomed and coached from day 1.  he had one agenda that he fulfilled.  In 8 years the Rich got richer and the poor became poorer.

Very little has changed.

Either person being elected won't change much for those below a certain income point.
