I just want to clear something up, are we considering bodybuilding a sport or not?

That's a classic and endless debate

so let see if i have this right. pitcher brings his teenager to 120 home and away games, in the club house and during batting practice. the club tells him that he can't bring the kid anymore, so he retires.
leaves 13 million on the table. whatever.

left fielder for the dodgers hits a foul ball off his shin, going to miss three games to rest his shin??

would not watch baseball if you paid me. just my 2 cents
First of all dude is a retard, kid needs to be in school.

Adam LaRoche 36 years old, net worth $35 Million

why not retire

most successful people (sports, business etc.) got rich by busting their ass at their chosen profession. These people don't want to retire at 35 and drinks cocktails on a beach for the rest of their lives.

It'd be hard for me to choose my spoiled shit son over $13 million dollars, and I don't think that makes me a bad person.
He could set up the financial freedom for his kid and his kid's kids by playing a shitty game that he isn't all that good at, judging from last year.
So he's actually harming his kid by being a whiney bitch.

You do realize that he had it in his contract where he could.

If someone says it's cool then changed their mind, who is at fault?

His kid has always been around the clubhouse. So what? It's a game.

The slowness of it is simply rediculous, I mean fuckin pitchers should throw the dame ball as soon as they get it back from the catcher.

but i cant say standing at a plate with a fastball coming at you is for pussies.

or someone with a big time batting average.

Not sure it was in the contract - might have been a verbal agreement.

Sounds to me like the team had a loose policy about it - then Laroche took it to the max and had the kid around 24/7, which is pretty ridiculous.

Now, if it was explicitly communicated he could, then it's a different story.   But I think he took advantage the lack of a clearly defined set of team rules.

It takes gigantic nerves to call baseball gay in a bodybuilding board.....

With that being said,  in a world were a pro bodybuilder has to practically prostitute himself in order to feed himself/cover drugs expenses etc....  A pro baseball player can walk away from 13 million dollars salary if feels like it .

http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/adam-laroche-white-sox-contract-clause-son-allowed-in-clubhouse-031816

It's looking less likely with each passing day that Adam LaRoche will ever play for the White Sox again. After the team asked him to limit the amount of time his 14-year-old son Drake spent in the clubhouse, LaRoche decided to retire. And his teammates say that nothing can be done to change his mind.

The rest of the White Sox are extremely upset with the way that the organization has handled the issue, and now the MLB Players Association may get involved due to the existence of a clause in LaRoche's contract that reportedly specified that his son was allowed in the team's clubhouse.

Without seeing exactly what the contract says about LaRoche's son, it's impossible to know whether any real violation took place. But aside from the White Sox potentially being on the hook for some financial reparations, it doesn't appear as though LaRoche would be willing to reconsider his retirement decision. So the damage here has already been done.

In essence, we don't know, so we'll have to wait.   If it's specified in the contract, it's on Chicago.   But Adam Laroche should be extremely thankful he made 70 million career dollars for being a slightly above average employee at a job that let his kid stay at work with him most of the time.

never understood why baseball is fun to watch....I've tried a few times....didn't enjoy it.  I tried playing baseball....didn't enjoy it.  I've been to some minor league games.....they were fun but it had little to do with the baseball.

It's all subjective though.

Yes, but there is a tweet in there where the MLBPA is involved because of the clause.

Certainly it is currently not proven, but it sounds like they are working on that as quickly as possible.

MLBPA will go to the mat on everything.   I'll need to see the clause first.  If it was iron clad, I doubt he'd retire.

But who knows, he seems like sort of a loon.

They were talking about this on Dan Lebatard this morning (I dislike him). Basically they said the clubhouse was split on racial lines over this, and someone who stuck up for LaRoche, who was white, screamed at the black general manager. Also said it was Abreu that complained because he had left his son behind in Cuba and it made home sad to see LaRoche with his kid everyday. Solution? Go back to Cuba and get your kid.

He probably is in school. It's not like LaRoche works some 9-5 job. He's probably at the field until later hours, so why not allow the kid to come by and talk to his old man.

It's a fucking game... It's not like the kid is in the ER during some surgery. He's hanging out at a goddam baseball field.

Fuck Lebatard for saying anything against him anyway. That guy brings his fucking dad to work every day.
