Pre contest the use of orals and faster esters always push the dosage up as they have to be taken more frequently. well in my experience anyway plus lower dosages than off season pre contest usually result in loss of muscle as its in a calorie deficient period you usually find anabolic work better, just an opinion.

I just don't see the point of high dosages pre-contest when you are in a calorific deficit, high or low dosages you are just trying to hold onto tissue.

And Ropo, here is Haney about 6 weeks after winning the 1991 Olympia; holding up Levrone's hand at the 1991 Nationals. IMO Levrone's legs were better than Haney's at that point.

And that Haney's wife put her foot down and said no way you're doing this any more. Maybe that number was exaggerated. It is funny how Dorian today talks about how he was a guy who used much less than everyone else. Which is funny because that isn't what was going around many years ago. Dorian trying to re-write history is my guess...Usually the guys who say they took the less really took the most...

Kerry Kayes would back that up, maybe not double but a gram more, Dorian was not a huge abuser, but I concede I think he used considerably more than Haney would have but not as much as the guys who dont have the genetics that filled the pro ranks both now and then

It's odd how Haney is in many respects underrated, despite being an 8 time Mr O.  The guy had an amazing build.

Awesome pictures.  I think Lee's wife wanted him to curb the gear use for his health.  Keep in mind he was just turning 32 by the time he retired.  Hardly old, and definitely young enough to reverse some of the damage from what was likely only 10 or so years of continual steroid usage.  The proof is in the pudding, I would say - as Lee appears to be in great health today.

He was huge with a tiny waist.  His muscles were hard and not soft bloated like today's champs. He had nothing to prove anymore. Today he looks like an athlete and looks healthy. Also his body isn't destroyed like Yates and Ronnie.

Agreed, but Haney was 2" taller than Levrone, so it looks to me that Kev is considerably in front of Haney in that shot.

IMO, Kev at his best vs. Lee Haney at his best, and Kev wins.
