Bored tonight so I thought we'd revisit this. A case could be made for both Danny and Platz here. Franco is a least ripped with that awesome striated chest, but his lower body is way down in both size and separation.

You forgot to mention Franco's brutalk gyno. Aside from being ripped he was a mess and very underserving of the title, as was Dickerson undeserving of his 1982 win, which should have gone to Platz.

It's a hard one to judge, all competitors so short too. I don't rate Franco as much as others but he had a good structure and no one really stood out beating him all over.

I figured the gyno was too obvious to even bother mentioning. Plus it's been done to death.

There are quite a few confoundingly atrocious showings at the '81 'O'. Among them Roger Walker and Ken Waller, who both showed up looking like complete tosh.

Shit, I've never seen pictures of Walker and Waller from that time period. My memory of them is from what they looked like in the mid-70's (Pumping Iron era). Talk about Palumboism before it was even invented.

I am a tall guy, and even I say Padilla is one of the most complete bodybuilders to ever compete.

Roger Schwab, former IFBB judge said that in person, Padilla was one of the 3 best bodybuilders to ever live.

Franco was connected to arnold. Arnold was connected to all the judges and promoters. He set up a win for franco the likes of what he did for himself in 1980. Walk over the backs of others to get to the top. Never look back because you don't want a guilty conscience( arnold) do everything possible get the title, to hell with what anyone says about it later.

Anyone with good eyesight can tell that Arnold deserved to win the 1980 Mr O. He was the best man on stage that night. Franco's 1981 win was a fucking travesty. He looked like a turd with posing trunks on.

Funny how Franco used to claim to be 5'5", yet was virtually the same height as 5'2" (MAX 5'3") Danny.

Platz tore his biceps just before the 82 olympia and was lucky to get 6th,i was at that show and he was still the crowd favourite.but the torn biceps killed him.Danny was the winner in 81.

Reasonable argument can be made for several competitors, but in no way whatsoever should Franco have won.

He had brutal milky tits, zero quad separation, bow legs, a serious lack of proportion, etc.

Total joke.
