ExactlyThere's always been some weird back and forth between Connor and the UFC. When he beat Aldo he refused to wear the reebok t shirt Dana offered him. He also had is own color shorts which was a first. No one else had that luxury. I think he's been pushing his limits for awhile now. There's also that frank Fertita background video. Trouble in Paradise. The weird thing is Connor seemed to always fulfill his media obligations. He brags about it constantly. Wonder why he did a 180 this time? Shaken up over an MMA fighters death? His last defeat? The game is afoot.
He certainly would have had trouble talking trash at this press conference. Maybe he just doesn't want to fight Nate again. Nate will ride him hard after this.

He's the one who asked for Nate rematch in the first place. Dana didn't push him to take it. He was supposed to drop down and defend his belt. He already knows how gruelling a press tour is but he always goes on about being a professional and keeping his commitments. It's a bit out of character for him given his normal work ethic. I don't think he's scared of Nate or he wouldn't have asked for the rematch. He was slated to make a lot more money than his last match so even if he lost again he'd still have a nice paycheque.Something else is going on behind the scenes.
